Touchplan Power BI Connector

The Touchplan Power BI Connector allows you to connect Touchplan data directly to Power BI Desktop for reporting and analysis.

Requirements

Before getting started, make sure you have the following:

  • A Windows machine

  • Power BI Desktop installed

  • Access to the following folder on your computer:
    ​Documents\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors

  • The Touchplan connector .mez file saved in the Custom Connectors folder

Download the Touchplan Connector

Download the Touchplan .mez file below and place it in:

Documents\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors

Enable Data from Non-Certified Sources

Power BI needs to be configured to allow the Touchplan custom connector to load.

  1. Open Power BI Desktop.

  2. Select File.

  3. In the bottom-left corner, select Options and settings.

  4. Select Options.

  5. Select Security.

  6. Under Data Extensions, select Allow any extensions to load.

  7. Click OK to save your settings.

Note: You may need to restart Power BI Desktop for the connector to become available.

Connect to the Touchplan Connector

Once the connector is installed and Power BI is configured:

  1. In Power BI Desktop, select Get Data and then select More.

  2. Search for Touchplan.

  3. Select the Touchplan connector and click Connect.

  4. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret.

  5. Select the desired Report from the dropdown menu.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Power BI will display a preview of the available data. Select Load.

  8. The query will execute and the Touchplan data will become available in Power BI Desktop.

Note: It may take a minute for the connection to establish and the data to load.
