When running a large event, you may have a large group of individuals you need to reach out to who are not players. These individuals could be volunteers, officials, and even staff members. With the Golf Genius Contact List feature, you can add all these individuals and categorize them in a list for easy access. The Contact List is available in the customer center as a "master" list and in each event/league. Further, these contact lists are available when sending text messages or emails.
The contact list will contain the following information (as shown below):
Last Name: The individual's last name.
First Name: The individual's first name.
Phone: The individual's cell phone number.
Email: The individual's email address.
Category: The individual's role in the organization (staff, official, supervisor, etc.). You can assign multiple categories to one contact.
In this article, we will discuss how to add individuals to your contact list and send a text message to those individuals.
Creating Contact List:
You will have the following options to populate the contact list (Note: These options will be discussed in greater detail later in this article.):
Add Contact Manually: When creating your contact list, you can add individuals one at a time. You will be able to maintain a "master" contact list in the customer center and have a contact list specific to each event/league.
Having a specific contact list for each event/league is very beneficial because you can have multiple leagues or events with unique contact lists. The individual on the list in the event/league may or may not be on your customer center list as well. You can also have individuals from the customer center list on multiple event/league contact lists.Import from Customer Contact List (Event/League Only): If you have populated your customer center contact list, you can quickly add individuals from the customer center contact list into a specific event or league.
Adding Contact Manually
To add individuals to the contact list, follow these directions:
Navigate to the:
Master List (Customer Center): In the Customer Center, go to Customer Center > Customer Settings > Contact List.
Event/League List: To add individuals to a contact list for an event/league, go to Golfers > Event/League Contact List.
Click "Add Contact Manually." When creating your contact list, you can add individuals one at a time.
Enter the following information (as shown below):
Last Name
First Name
Phone Number
Email
Categories: You can assign multiple categories to each individual. Note: When adding a category for the first type, start typing the category name, and then select it from the dropdown to add it to the profile.
Click "Add Contacts" and they will be added to your contact list.
Importing Contacts to an Event/League Contact List
If you have populated your master contact list in the Customer Center, you can quickly add individuals from the master list to a specific event or league. To import contacts from the master list, follow these directions:
Within an event/league, navigate to Golfers > Event Contact List.
Click "Import From Customer Contact List" (as shown below).
Select the individual to import.
Click "Import Contacts" and they will be added to the event/league contact list.
Formatting Mobile Phone Numbers
When adding phone numbers to the contact list, many different number formats can be used. They may include a dash or parentheses. International (Non-US and Canada) phone numbers will need the country code prefix before the phone number.
Examples of Accepted US and Canada Phone Number Formats:

Managing the Contact List
After creating your contact list, you can edit and delete individuals from the contact list (as shown below).
Note: Edits made to imported contacts from the customer center contact list will be reflected in the customer center contact list and other events/leagues that individuals were imported into.
Further, you will be able to filter your contacts by category when viewing or importing them from the customer contact list (as shown below).
Creating Distribution List (Event/League Only)
Text Message Distribution Lists are a means of grouping individuals in the Event/League Contact List to send a high volume of messages. This also allows you to quickly select the specific distribution list when creating a text message instead of individually selecting or filtering individuals on the contact list each time.
To create your distribution list within an event or league, follow these instructions:
Go to Golfers > Event/League Contact List > Text Message Distribution List.
Click "New Distribution List."
Give the distribution list a name.
Select categories to filter the contacts by if creating a distribution list by category.
Select the specific contact to add to the distribution list or use the "Check All" if selecting all the individuals shown.
After selecting all the appropriate contacts, click "Create Distribution List" (as shown below).
After creating your distribution list, you will be able to take action on these lists further to edit or delete them as necessary (as shown below).
Using the Contact List When Sending an Email:
When sending an emails from the customer center or an event or league, you will be able to include individuals from the contact list (as shown below).
To include contacts from your Contact List, check the box for "Others from 'Event/League' Contact List." When this option is checked, you will be able to select from the following recipient options:
All Contacts: Send to all the contacts on the Contact List.
Specific Contacts: Manually select the specific recipients in the Contact List.
Distribution List: Select a distribution list as the recipients. To select multiple distribution lists, click the "+" button and choose the additional distribution list.

Using the Contact List When Sending A Text Message:
When sending a text message from the customer center or an event or league, you will be able to include individuals from the contact list (as shown below).
To include contacts from your Contact List, check the box for "Others from 'Event/League' Contact List." When this option is checked, you will be able to select from the following recipient options:
All Contacts: Send to all the contacts on the Contact List.
Specific Contacts: Manually select the specific recipients in the Contact List.
Distribution List: Select a distribution list as the recipients. To select multiple distribution lists, click the "+" button and choose the additional distribution list.
