So, you’ve got your courses, rounds, and players set up. Now it’s time to set up tournaments to create a fun and competitive trip. There are thousands upon thousands of variations of tournaments that can be set up. Adding a variety of tournaments will also spread prize money across various competitions during the trip and give everyone a chance to win.
Most trips involve a mixture of single-round and multi-round competitions. Single-round competitions involve individuals, pairs, or foursomes competing in various formats while multi-round competitions allow you to aggregate results across some or all of the rounds on the trip to determine the overall individual or team winners.

Points and Purse:
Points and purse allocations can be assigned to each single-round or multi-round tournament you create. Points are useful for “rolling up” results (e.g. Ryder Cup) and a purse is useful for keeping track of payouts. Click Here for a more detailed guide to Points and Purse.
One of the challenges faced by the captain is allocating the total pot across the various tournaments on the trip. Let’s take the example of a 5-round trip with 16 players where everyone contributes $100 to the prize pool for the following tournaments:
Two-man net best ball paying out $60/$40/$20 for the top three teams each day
Net skins with $100 daily pot
Aggregate individual net across all 5 rounds paying out $200/$150/$100/$50 for the top four places
With all the competitions, the total prize pool is $1,600 with many happy winners.
