Many tournaments award points and purse to players and teams and by division and flights. When setting up a tournament format, there are several options on how to payout the points and purse.
As the tournament results come in, points and purse will be distributed and displayed on the leaderboard as shown below:
There are a few unique scenarios that can be addressed in other articles:
If managing a league, the points and purse can also go towards the league standings. For more information on managing league standings, Click Here.
It's also important to understand that the points earned in these tournaments do not go towards Season Points. To learn more about managing Season Points, Click Here.
If you are running a professional tournament, you can exclude amateur participants from purse payouts in professional events. For details on configuring this setting, Click Here.
In this article, we will discuss using point and purse for your tournaments.
Paying Out Team Tournaments:
Before discussing the various payout options, it is important to understand how points/purse is distributed in team tournaments.
When paying out a tournament using a team list, there are two options:
Payout to Player(s): When paying out to players, the points and purse will be divided amongst the players on the team. Say, for instance, the 1st place team won $100. If there are four players on that team, each will win $25. The individual earnings would also be listed on the leaderboard.
Payout to Team(s): When paying out to teams, the points and purse will go towards the teams (and not the individual players). This option is needed for Ryder Cup style events and team-based leagues where players earn points to go towards their team. The team earnings would also be listed on the leaderboard.
If setting up a pair v. field/flight, foursome v. field/flight tournament, the points and purse will payout to the players. For instance, if $200 is entered for 1st place in a pair v. field tournament, the purse will be divided amongst the two players ($100 each).
Paying Out by Division or Flight:
Further, before discussing the various payout options, it is also important to understand how points/purse can be distributed when using divisions and flights. When using divisions and flights, you have the ability to payout tournament results by division, flights, or flights within divisions.
If you have created division or flights and set the tournament to use division or the competition as "vs. flight," you will have an option to define the payouts by division and flight (as shown below).
Once you have selected to option to payout points and purse for divisions and flights, you will be provided a pop-up to define the payouts by division and flight. Use the toggles to switch between divisions and flights (as shown below) and set the points and purse.
Stroke Play Tournament Payout Options:
Winner takes all - Enter the total pot, which goes to the winner of the tournament. If there is a tie for 1st, the pot is split.
1st, 2nd,...Nth - Enter the payout structure. To pay out more than 10 places, click "More."
Gross / Net (Gross Bias) - Two different tournaments will be created (Gross and Net). Players/Teams will earn the purse/points for the gross or net tournament (not both). The tournament they win points/purse will be the tournament they have the best finish. If their finish is the same for both tournaments (e.g., 1st Place Gross and 1st Place Net), they earn the gross purse/points. For information on this, Click Here.
Gross / Net (Net Bias) - Same as the last option except, if the finish is the same for both the gross and net tournament, the player/team earns the points/purse in the net tournament. Click Here.
By Purse Distribution Table: This option allows you to use a distribution table to award purse to the field. (Note: Contact support to enable this option.) Click Here for details on distribution tables.
Shots below Par - This is a pro-rata distribution that gives points/purse to a player/team who scores under par. For example, if 100 points are in the pot and only two players in the field score under par (Player A [-2] & Player B [-1]), Player A will win 66.66 Points while Player B will win 33.33. If there are no under-par scores, the system will revert to "by score better than worst," which is the next option.
Score Better than Worst - This payout is distributed pro-rata to the number of strokes better than the worst score in the field. Say, for instance, a player v. foursome tournament is set up with a 100 point pot. Player A scores an 80, Player B an 82, Player C a 79, and Player D a 77. The total number of strokes below 82 (worst score) will be 10. Two for player A, 0 for Player B, 3 for Player C, and 5 for Player D. As a result, Player A will receive 20 points, Player B no points, Player C 30 points, and player D 50 points.
Match Play Tournament Payout Options:
By Matches/ Holes Won/Tied: Enter the payout for winning, tying, and losing a match. You can also enter the payout for winning, tying, and losing a hole.
This option is often used for Ryder Cup style tournaments where one point is awarded for winning the match, and a half-point is awarded for halving. Another popular format that uses this payout option is the Member-Guest Invitational Format. In the screenshot above, winning the match will award the team 1 point and 1 point for each hole. The maximum number of "per hole" points being 6.Pro-Rata to Matches Won/Tied: This payout is typically used in player v. all players, pair v. all pairs, and foursome v. all foursomes tournaments. Each player/team's payout is determined by comparing the number of matches won/tied, pro-rata. For instance, if a player won 10% of all the matches in the tournament, they will win 10% of the pot.
Pro-Rata to Holes Won/Tied: Similar to the last option, but using holes instead of matches.
Pro-rata to Holes Won: Similar to the last option, but tied holes are not awarded points/purse.
By Rank of Matches Won/Tied: This payout is typically used in player v. all players, pair v. all pairs, and foursome v. all foursomes tournaments. The players/teams are ranked and paid out depending on the total matches they have won/tied.
Stableford Tournament Payout Options:
By Purse Distribution Table: This option allows you to use a distribution table to award purse to the field. (Note: Contact support to enable this option.) Click Here for details on distribution tables.
Winner takes all - The total pot goes to 1st place in the tournament. If there is a tie, the pot is split.
1st, 2nd,...Nth -Enter the payout structure. To pay out more than 10 places, click "More."
By Points: Payout is pro-rata. Players/teams are paid out depending on their Stableford point totals in relation to the Stableford points earned in the field. For instance, if a player earned 7% of the total Stableford points in the tournament, they will win 7% of the pot.
By Points over Lowest: Similar to the last option, but the "benchmark" score to compare point totals is the lowest Stableford Score in the field. For instance, if a player earned 7% of the total Stableford points (over the worst Stableford score) in the tournament, they will win 7% of the pot.
Quota Tournament Payout Options:
By Purse Distribution Table: This option allows you to use a distribution table to award purse to the field. (Note: Contact support to enable this option.) Click Here for details on distribution tables.
Winner takes all - The total pot goes to 1st place in the tournament. If there is a tie, the pot is split.
1st, 2nd,...Nth - Enter the payout structure. To pay out more than 10 places, click "More."

By Points over Lowest: Similar to the last option, but the "benchmark" score to compare point totals is the worst score in relation to Quota in the field. For instance, if a player earns 7% of the total points over Quota (over the worst Quota score) in the tournament, they will win 7% of the pot.
Skins Tournament Payout Options:
Pro-Rata to Skins Won: This is the most popular skins payout option. The total pot is split between the winning skins. When entering the pot, you can also enter the rounding parameters. By default, there is no rounding with a value of zero entered (as shown below).
To determine the total pot, two options are available:Enter Total Purse/Points Amount: Enter the total pot of the skins tournament. If the tournament uses multiple divisions or flights, the amount entered will be used for each division or flight.
Multiply Purse/Points by Players in Competition: Enter the entry fee per player. The total pot will then be determined by the total number of players in the competition (e.g., $5 entry x 100 players = $500 pot). If the tournament uses multiple divisions or flights, there will be a separate pot for each.
Per Skin Won: Every skin is worth the amount entered. For instance, if the value entered is $50, and a player wins 3 skins, they will win $150.
By Rank of Skins Won: Players/teams are ranked and paid out depending on the total skins that they have won.
Eagles, Birdies, Deuces, Treys Payout Options:

If the tournament uses multiple divisions or flights, there will be a separate pot for each.
By Rank of Instances: Players/teams are ranked and paid out depending on their total instances.
Nassau Payout Option:
Nassau-scored tournaments payout to the front 9 winner, back 9 winner, and overall winner.
Below is an example leaderboard of a Nassau-Scored Match Play Singles tournament where there is 1 point available for the front 9, one point available for the back 9, and 2 points available for the overall 18 holes:
Nassau-Scored Stroke Play and Stableford Tournaments only payout to 1st place front 9, back 9, and overall 18.
