If your golf cart fleet utilizes Pace Technology™ GPS units, you can take advantage of our Pace Technology™ integration. This integration has the following functionality:
GPS units can act as digital cart signs
Players can enter their hole-by-hole scores into the units
Players can view the live leaderboard from the units
To set up this integration, contact our support team.
When setting up and managing an event or league with the GPS integration, use the same process you typically use without the integration. Then include the few additional steps outlined in this article to utilize the integration.
Making Cart Assignments:
Players need to be assigned to specific golf carts in the fleet. After pairings are created, go to Rounds > Cart Assignments (as shown below).
Follow these instructions to make cart assignments:
Click "Connected" to display only the currently available carts.
Select the riders on the cart.
Select the cart on the right.
Click "Assign."
Repeat the steps above for the remaining assignments.
VERY IMPORTANT: Click "Save" on the bottom right to save all assignments.
You can also manage cart assignments with our iPad App. When logged into the app as a manager, you can walk the fleet of carts with the iPad, making an assignment.
Copying Cart Assignments from Previous Round:
Suppose the event has multiple rounds and the cart assignments are the same. In that case, you can copy cart assignments from a previous round by clicking "Copy From Previous Round" (option on the bottom left when assigning carts). For instance, maybe you are playing a 36 hole best ball tournament in one day. The teams are probably using the same carts for both rounds. So you can easily copy over the assignments from round to round
.
Selecting the Tournaments to be Displayed for Leaderboard:
You will need to select the tournament(s) to display on the units leaderboard. A golf cart logo appears next to the tournament name when set to display on the cart (as shown below). The scramble tournament will be displayed on the golf cart, but the skins game will not be in the example below.
To set a tournament to be displayed on the GPS unit leaderboard, follow these instructions:
Go to Rounds > Tournaments.
Select to edit the tournament you wish to display.
Select Advanced Display Options while editing the tournament.
Select the option "Tournament Displayed on PACE Carts" (as shown below).
Click "Continue" and press "Save."
Keep in mind that you can use these same steps to select multiple tournaments to be displayed on the leaderboard. If you need to remove a tournament from the GPS units leaderboard, use these steps and uncheck "Tournament Displayed on PACE Carts."
Displaying Handicap Strokes (Dots) on Cart Scorecards:
You will need to define which tournament should be used to show Handicap Strokes (dots) on the carts scorecard if playing a net tournament. To do this, go to Round > Enable Mobile Score Entry. Click on the "Enable Mobile Score Entry" text and then select the tournament to be displayed and click "Save" (as shown below).
Note: This is only required to display dots on the GPS Scorecards. You do not need to enable the Mobile Score Entry option unless you allow players to enter scores on the mobile app.
Managing Scores:
To edit or enter scores currently cart controlled, click on the pairing group and attempt to enter/change a score. You will have the option to "Edit Scores" (as shown below) where you can make the necessary edits without unassigning a car from the player/group.
Note: You can also select the option to unassign the cart. However, you will not be able to reassign the cart until it is in the staging area.
Player Experience:
Entering Scores:
Once the GPS units are active and the round is "In Progress," the players can enter scores by clicking the plus button for the hole and clicking "Done" when scores are entered (as shown below).
Note 1: In order for scores to be sent from the units to Golf Genius and displayed on the leaderboard, players will need to check the "Done" checkmark at the bottom right of the screen. If the checkmark is not clicked, scores will not be submitted to Golf Genius, and the display will not advance to the next hole's graphic until it times out.
Note 2: If the players do not hit the checkmark after entering scores for a few holes but later do, all missing scores will be sent to Golf Genius.
Viewing the Leaderboard:
Players can also view the leaderboard on the units by clicking "Leaderboard" (as shown below).
The leaderboard on the GPS Display is limited to:
Flights that the current cart is part of (if the tournament is flighted).
Display the top 10 positions on the cart or the top 10 within your flight.
If a player on the current cart is not in one of the top 10 positions, additionally display the leaderboard line that refers to this player.
If the players and leaderboards are not displayed on the GPS units, Click Here to troubleshoot.
