Trackify provides built-in controls to help you align your tracking setup with CCPA and GDPR privacy requirements. These settings determine how pixel events are fired, what data is sent, and how user consent is handled.

⚠️ Note: This documentation explains how Trackify handles tracking behavior. It does not replace legal advice. Final compliance decisions should always be made with legal counsel.

Enable CCPA Compliance

What it does

  • Makes all pixel events fired by Trackify CCPA-compliant

  • Applies Meta’s Limited Data Use (LDU) behavior to events where required

  • Restricts how personal data can be used for optimization, attribution, and audiences

When to enable

  • Recommended for most businesses

  • Enable this unless your business is legally exempt from CCPA regulations

If your business is exempt, this option can be disabled to allow unrestricted pixel usage.

Tracking Consent API (GDPR & CCPA)

The Tracking Consent API controls how Trackify behaves based on user consent preferences. This setting applies to both GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California) use cases.

You can configure this from Trackify → Settings.

Available Options

1. Suppress All Events

  • No tracking is performed at all

  • No pixel events are fired

  • No data is sent to Meta or other platforms

Use when:

  • User has explicitly declined all tracking

  • You need strict consent enforcement

2. Suppress Only Advanced Matching

  • Basic events (PageView, ViewContent, etc.) still fire

  • No personal or identifiable data is sent

  • Advanced matching parameters (email, phone, name, etc.) are excluded

Use when:

  • You want basic tracking

  • User has not consented to personal data usage

  • You want partial compliance without fully disabling tracking

3. Ignore Consent

  • All events fire normally

  • Full data (including advanced matching) is sent

  • Consent signals are ignored

Use when:

  • Your business is exempt from GDPR/CCPA

  • You are legally allowed to track without consent

  • You accept responsibility for compliance

How These Settings Work Together

  • Enable CCPA Compliance controls how data may be used

  • Tracking Consent API controls whether and what data is sent

  • Both settings work together to ensure:

    • Legal flexibility

    • Configurable risk levels

    • Compliance across regions

Best-Practice Recommendations

  • Enable CCPA Compliance unless exempt

  • Use Suppress Only Advanced Matching if:

    • You want analytics and optimization

    • But need to avoid personal data collection

  • Use Suppress All Events when:

    • Users explicitly opt out

  • Use Ignore Consent only with legal confirmation
