Adding a futures trade manually in TradeZella is simple and straightforward. This guide will walk you through the process to ensure your trades are recorded accurately.

To manually add a trade-in TradeZella, visit the 'Manual' add trade page.

  • Click here to go directly to the manual trade entry page.

  • Alternatively, click the “Add Trade” button on the left panel and navigate to the “Manual” tab.

Steps to Add a Futures Trade

Select Your Account:

  • Choose the account where the trade will be applied.

Choose Asset Type and Symbol:

  • Asset Type: Select “Future”.

  • Symbol: Enter the symbol of the futures contract you’re trading (e.g., “MNQ” or “MNQU4” with expiration date).

⚠️ NOTE: Failure to enter the correct expiration date and symbol name can result in chart data not loading correctly.

Create a New Execution:

  • Click on the “Create new execution” button.

  • Enter the following execution details:

Execution Details:

  • Date/Time: The date and time of the trade.

  • Expiration Date: The contract’s expiration date.

  • Contract Multiplier: Enter the contract multiplier (check the CME Group website if unsure).

  • Number of Contracts: Specify the number of contracts traded.

  • Side: Indicate whether you’re buying or selling.

  • Price: The execution price.

  • Commission: Enter any commission fees.

  • Fees: Add any additional fees incurred.

Example: Adding a Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Index (MNQ) Trade

Here’s an example of how to add anMicro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Index (MNQ) futures trade:

  • Symbol: Use “Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Index (MNQ)”.

  • Expiration Date: Ensure the correct expiration date to avoid chart loading errors. For this specific trade, the expiration will be in Sep 2024 (denoted by “U4”).

  • Contract Multiplier: The multiplier for ES is $2, so input “2”.

You can verify the contract multiplier and other details on the CME Group website.

Step 1: Enter the details for the first execution:

  • Date/Time: 07/26/2024 19:38:38 +00:00

  • Expiration Date: Sep/13/2024

  • Contract Multiplier: 2

  • Number of Contracts: 1

  • Side: SELL (for a short trade)

  • Price: 19130

  • Fees: 0.74

Step 2: Add the details for the second execution to close the trade:

  • Date/Time: 07/26/2024 19:40:04 +00:00

  • Expiration Date: Sep/13/2024

  • Contract Multiplier: 2

  • Number of Contracts: 1

  • Side: BUY (to close the short trade)

  • Price: 19145.5

  • Fees: 0 (the total fee of 0.74 was already accounted for)
