Experiencing error messages when uploading your trades from NinjaTrader to TradeZella via CSV? Here are some common reasons for these errors and how to fix them:

Exporting from the Wrong Tab:

  • One of the most common mistakes is exporting trades from the wrong tab in NinjaTrader.

  • To ensure a smooth import into TradeZella, export your trades from the "Trade Performance" > "Execution" tab. Additionally, always verify that the exported file is in the correct format before proceeding with an upload.

Note: Exporting from other tabs, such as the "Summary" tab, will lead to errors.

Incorrect Headers:

  • Your CSV file may not contain the correct headers needed for TradeZella. Ensure that your CSV file includes the following headers:

  • Instrument, Action, Quantity, Price, Time, ID, E/X, Position, Order ID, Name, Commission, Rate, Account, Connection. Double-check your CSV file for typos or missing headers before uploading, as these are common causes of import errors.

Different Date/Time Format:

  • Ensure you select the correct date format when uploading your trade file. Using the wrong date format will result in a failed upload. TradeZella supports the following formats:
