Trade Settings: Breakeven Offset

Have you ever taken a loss on a trade so small that it’s practically breakeven, but TradeZella marks it as a loss? That’s why we built the “Breakeven Offset” feature!

What does it do? This feature allows you to set the range of values for a trade to be considered breakeven. Let’s look at an example:

Here we have an ES futures trade. This trade resulted in a 1 tick loss which nets to $12.50.

This gives us a red day on our calendar, but for us, this is a breakeven trade! 😦

Let’s go fix it!

Here’s the link to the trade settings tab: Trade Settings.

By default, you will see that our from-to values are set to $0. Say in our case we want to consider anything from 3 ticks or less as breakeven; 3 ticks on ES nets +/- $37.5. So we would set our “from” value to $37.5 and leave our “to” value to $0.

So we would set our “from” value to -$37.5 and leave our “to” value to $0.

Click save, and let’s check our trade again! 😊

Woohoo! 🎉 Our trade status is now breakeven, and our day is now grey, meaning we had a breakeven day!

Lastly, the breakeven offset setting allows you to set your range in a percentage as well, a popular choice for options traders!

Trade Settings: Auto-Close Expired Option Trades

If some of your closed option trades are showing up as open within TradeZella, it may be because the trade has expired and your broker did not include this information in the uploaded file or sync.

In this case, you can enable the auto-close expired option feature!

When enabled, TradeZella will automatically detect any open expired option trades and apply a closing execution at a price of $0 on the date of expiration. For any future imports, the trades will be set as expired automatically after every 24 hours.

To enable this feature, select the toggle icon and apply it to all your trades.
