Do Backtested Trades Get Automatically Journaled in TradeZella?

Learn how backtested trades are automatically logged in TradeZella for easy review.

Written by Team

Yes! Every trade you place during a backtesting session is automatically logged in a dedicated Backtesting Notebook section, with its own set of analysis tools scoped entirely to your backtesting activity.

A separate space for your backtesting data

In the left navigation, Backtesting has its own set of tabs:

  • Sessions — every backtesting session you've created, with details like symbol, strategy, balances, date range, and P&L

  • Dashboard — an overview of your backtesting performance: Net P&L, Trade win %, Profit factor, Day win %, a performance chart, drawdown, and a yearly calendar

  • Day View — a day-by-day breakdown of your backtesting activity

  • Trade View — a full trade log across your backtesting sessions, with entry/exit prices, Net P&L, Net ROI, and Zella Insight

  • Notebook — notes tied to your backtesting sessions

  • Reports — deeper reporting on your backtesting performance

  • Strategies — the strategies/playbooks used across your backtesting sessions

Filtering by session

Both the Dashboard and Trade View let you filter down to All Sessions or check off specific individual backtesting sessions, so you can analyze your backtesting performance as a whole or drill into one session at a time.

That's it! Every backtested trade is tracked automatically, with a full set of tools to analyze your backtesting activity. 📊
