Okay, so no one likes to be labeled, but labels do allow you to manage and automate a complex warehouse setup.
For example, say you only allow certain vehicle types in certain sections (aka docks, loading points, etc.). Or you have two specific sections for dangerous goods. Or maybe you want to automatically book certain transport orders and let the carrier book their slots for other transport orders.
Well, the good news is labels allow you to set up everything correctly. If you put the correct label on the transport order, our transportation automation fem-bot whiz (alias Flo) will make sure it gets booked correctly and in the right section. (Flo’s not just another pretty gynoid face.)
To add labels in Time Slot Booking
In your application, labels can be used to:
Link labels to your section settings
When Time Slot Booking receives a transport order with a certain label, the system will book the slot in the sections that allow that label.
This can be used if you have sections that only allow a certain material type, vehicle type, etc.
Link labels to a booking rule
When Time Slot Booking receives a transport order with a certain label, the system will choose the correct booking rule:
Automated booking flow (the first available slot is automatically booked)
Internal booking flow (the internal user books the slot manually)
Carrier booking flow (the carrier users or internal users book the slot manually)
How to create labels in Slot Booking?
Go to your Time Slot Booking application
https://app.timeslotbooking.supplystack.com/Go to ‘Settings’ (via the cog icon at the bottom in your navigation bar)
Click on 'Labels'
Click on the '+ Add Label’ button at the top right of the page
Add the name of the label and click 'Save'
The label has now been added and will appear in the list view. Almost as fun as using a label-making machine, isn’t it? Forgive us, we’re nerdy that way.
Important notes
Labels should be minimum of 3 characters long and can include letters, numbers, _ , - , : .
To add labels in the TMS
Want to know how to create new labels?
Open the Labels master data table
In this table, you can add, edit, copy and delete labels
Click on ‘New’ to add a new label
Fill out the division, label name, and description
The label must always be in capital letters
The label can have between 3 to 64 characters (in case Mary Poppins is making a delivery and you want to create the label supercalifragilisticexpialidocious). They must contain only letters, numbers, and the following special characters _ - :
The label name in the TMS and Time Slot Booking must be identical in order for Flo to recognize them. If not, Flo won’t pass it to Slot Booking and she won’t be able to select the correct dock.
When you’ve added the label, it will be shown in the table with all the other labels.
How to add a label to a material order
Once you have created your labels in the master data table, you can start using these labels on your material orders.
Open a new or existing material order
Use the label field on the material order to select one or more labels applicable to that material order (you can find the input field at the right side of the material order screen, underneath the title ‘Material Order Details’.
Save the material order once you're done
Note: Labels are added at the material order level. Once you've added your material order to a transport order, it will aggregate all the labels from all the material orders for that transport order.
Which labels do I have on my material or transport order?
You can enable the labels column in the material order and transport order grid to view which labels are used on these orders.
Open the ‘Active Columns’ configuration
Add the ‘Labels’ column to your grids and save your view
Now that you’ve added the labels column, you can see which labels are used on your orders
Important notes
Labels on a transport order that don't exist in the master data in Slot Booking will not be considered
When Slot Booking receives a transport order with labels that don't exist, they will not be taken into consideration when calculating slot suggestions and searching for a section.
When Slot Booking receives a transport order without labels, it can be booked in all sections (regardless of the facility/section-label settings)
All transport orders (regardless of the label) can be booked for a section with no labels.
The labels in your Time Slot Booking application and your Control Tower should be written exactly the same way. If not, Time Slot Booking will not recognize the label on the transport order. (Flo’s a stickler when it comes to spelling. She’d never mistake Sara for Sarah or Jon for John).
