We’d like to introduce you to Flo.

Flo is our digital wizard, virtual donkey, and eager little self-taught bot. We’ve designed Flo to make your transportation management process much easier. Flo does the boring work you don’t want to do or have time to do. Below you’ll see some of the things Flo is capable of handling, which I think you’ll agree is quite impressive.

This article will guide you through a few onboarding steps so that you can get the most out of this super cool tool. Once you’ve set things up (which only takes a few minutes) Flo takes it from there and presto!...slot booking becomes dead easy.

You probably already have access to TOPS Control Tower. If not, please contact us because this is the first application you'll need to log in to to set up the integration.

Here’s a bit of background: This will be the application in which you’ll create your transport order or see your transport orders that Flo received from your ERP (for example, SAP). The TOPS Control Tower (with Flo at the helm) will send the transport orders that require bookings to the Time Slot Booking application. Yeehaw! Oh, by the way, this is all automated once everything is set up correctly. You don't have to do anything, unless you feel like getting Flo a much-deserved coffee.

When slots are booked, you can keep track of them up in the transport order grid view (in our subsequent articles, Flo will help you set up the correct view).

In this application, you will ONLY see the transport orders that require a slot. You can easily book slots for any transport orders that don’t have a slot yet, or you can see all the slots that are already booked in a nicely laid out schedule view. This is a schematic overview of all your slots per day and per warehouse/dock which, let’s be honest, is the logistics equivalent of a rooftop view of the ocean: the coast is clear and you can see miles of uninterrupted shoreline.

TOPS Control Tower is a flexible, but complex product. Flo is aware of this paradox, so she does her best to make sure that you feel more of the flexible part and less of the complex part. It’s also why we’ve created the following articles to help you through the setup process so you’ll get the most out of the system.
