How to add a travel credit card in TravelSmarter to unlock earning multipliers and card-based bonuses in your points strategy.

Add a Credit Card to TravelSmarter Profile

Adding a credit card to TravelSmarter allows the platform to factor in your card's earning multipliers, companion voucher thresholds, and card-specific bonuses when calculating your total points strategy and Smarter Advisor recommendations.

You can add a credit card from three places in TravelSmarter. The steps are identical from each location:

  • Dashboard - scroll to the Credit Card panel and click the add card button.

  • Profile - go to Profile in the left navigation menu, then scroll to the Credit Cards section.

  • Loyalty Wallet - open the Wallet, find the Cards tab, and use the add option.

Steps to Add a Credit Card:

  • Navigate to any of the three locations listed above.

  • Click Add Your First Card (or the add card button if you already have cards linked).

  • A popup labelled Add Credit Card appears with the prompt: "Select credit cards to add to your profile. These help us recommend the best ways to earn points."

  • Browse the scrollable grid of available cards. Each entry displays the card name, issuer, key benefit, and annual fee.

  • Click the card you want to add. The card is highlighted to confirm your selection.

  • Click Close to save and return to the previous screen.

Cards Currently Available to Add:

  • BA Amex Premium Plus (British Airways / Amex) - Companion Voucher after £10k spend. Annual fee: $250.

  • Barclaycard Avios Plus (Barclaycard) - Companion Voucher + No FX fees. Annual fee: $50.

  • Platinum Card (American Express) - 5x points on flights + lounge access. Annual fee: $695.

  • Sapphire Reserve (Chase) - 3x points on travel and dining. Annual fee: $550.

  • Emirates Skywards Mastercard (Barclaycard) - Skywards Miles + Silver tier fast-track.

  • Virgin Atlantic Reward+ (Virgin Money) - Upgrade voucher after £10k spend.

Go to the Loyalty Wallet and select the Cards tab.
