How to Top Up Your Tria Card

Top-ups allow you to instantly add funds to your Tria card by depositing crypto assets from your wallet. These deposits are converted and credited to your card balance, ready for immediate use in payments.

Getting Started

Adding funds is simple. Follow these steps to top up your card:

  1. Navigate to the Cards section of your app.

  2. Tap on Top-up.

  3. Select your preferred wallet:

    • Tria Wallet

    • Any supported external wallet

  4. Choose the token you wish to deposit.

  5. Enter the amount you want to add.

  6. Tap Review to verify your details.

  7. Swipe to Top-up to finalize the transaction.

Once the transaction is successful, the funds will appear in your card balance. Most top-ups are processed near-instantly.

Supported Networks

You can top up your card using assets from the following blockchains:

  • Bitcoin

  • Ethereum

  • Polygon

  • Base

  • Arbitrum

  • Optimism

  • Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

  • Solana

Note: Avalanche is currently not supported for deposits.

We strive to make top-ups as cost-effective and transparent as possible.

You get exactly what you deposit. There is no slippage on supported deposits.

  • Example: If you deposit $10 USDC on Ethereum, you will receive exactly $10 credited to your card.

For most supported chains, we offer gasless deposits. This means you do not need to hold the blockchain's native gas token to fund your card.

Important Exception: Gasless deposits are not supported on Solana. You must have SOL in your wallet to cover transaction fees. If your wallet lacks sufficient SOL, the deposit will fail.

Understanding Transaction Declines

If your card is declined at a merchant, it is often due to external factors rather than your TRIA account.

  • Foreign Card Acceptance: Tria is a foreign-issued card. While we do not restrict usage, some merchants or their banks do not support foreign cards.

  • Changed Merchant Policies: If a card worked previously at a merchant but now fails, the merchant's internal policies or payment gateway rules may have changed.

  • Network or Security Restrictions: Temporary network issues or VISA-placed restrictions due to high-risk patterns at a specific merchant can also cause declines.

Managing Your Card Balance and Top-Ups

Top-Up Timing

Card and wallet top-ups are typically instant. However, due to network congestion, it may sometimes take 2–4 hours to reflect in your balance. If you don't see your funds, try logging out and back into the Tria app.

Funds Visible but Not Usable

You may occasionally see a balance that you cannot withdraw or spend. This usually happens for two reasons:

  • Refunds in Progress (Posted Charges): These are refunds initiated by a merchant that are still being processed by VISA.

  • Blocked Amounts (Pending Charges): Certain merchants—such as hotels, car rentals, or fuel pumps—temporarily block or reserve funds as a "pre-authorization." These funds are released once the final transaction amount is confirmed.

Refunds for Failed Transactions

If a transaction fails but the money is still deducted from your account:

  1. Contact the Merchant: Confirm with them that the refund has been initiated.

  2. Standard Timelines: Once processed by the merchant, funds are usually credited within 14 business days. However, depending on VISA processing, it can take up to 31 business days.

  3. Support Escalation: If you have not received your refund after 2 weeks, please contact TRIA support with your refund transaction ID.

Card Security and Troubleshooting

Viewing Card Details

To protect your information, card numbers and CVVs are hidden by default. To view them:

  • Tap the eye icon in the Tria app.

  • Complete the biometric security check (ensure biometric permissions are enabled on your device).

Unauthorized or Compromised Details

If you notice a transaction you don't recognize or believe your card details have been stolen:

  • Freeze Your Card: Immediately go to the "Cards" section of the TRIA app and select Freeze.

  • Report It: Contact support with a screenshot and the transaction ID.

ATM Withdrawal Limits

If you are unable to withdraw a specific amount from an ATM, you may need to adjust your settings. Navigate to Card Settings in the Tria app to enable or increase your ATM withdrawal limits.

Cashback Rewards

Tria offers cashback on eligible card purchases with the following rules:

  • Payout: Rewards are paid in TRIA tokens and distributed 3 months after the Token Generation Event (TGE).

  • Cap: Earnings are capped at $100,000 USD per period.

  • Exclusions: The following do not qualify for cashback:

    • Cash withdrawals and cash-equivalent transactions.

    • Money transfers and wallet funding.

    • Crypto purchases.

    • Gambling and lotteries.
