Update request due date upon asset inspection date

The request due date can be updated based on the asset’s projected inspection date using the Update Due Date trigger

Updated this week

With the Update Due Date trigger, the asset's next inspection date will be automatically applied to the maintenance request when it is submitted. In this way, the request due date always reflects the asset's inspection schedule. Moreover, team members don't need to manually enter the due date for each request, reducing the manual errors.

To set up this Update Due Date trigger, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a maintenance request form.

  2. Add an asset selection question and select the asset group. This can link the request to the selected asset group and associated asset properties.

  3. Add other important questions (e.g., description).

  4. Turn the form into a request via the 3 dots.

  5. Make sure the due by date is enabled. Otherwise, the Update Due Date trigger option will not appear.

  6. Go to the Triggers tab and add a new trigger.

  7. Select the trigger event 'On Submitted No Validation Errors' or 'Submitted With Validation Errors' and the 'Update Due Date' activity.

  8. Choose the date-related property. In this example, we select the next inspection date.

  9. Click Save.

After that, when a maintenance request is submitted, its due date will automatically match the asset’s next inspection date and be displayed on the request.
