Adding Projects and Configuring Folder Access in Procore

Adding new projects and providing access to private folders

Overview

This guide explains how to add a new project to an existing Procore integration and provide access to private folders.

By default, TrunkText can only sync folders it has been explicitly granted access to.

Who Can Do This

  • ✅ Business Admin — can set up and manage integrations across the business.

  • ✅ Project Manager — can manage integrations within their assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Company Admin access in Procore

  • The Trunk Tools connector must already be installed in Procore App Management

Adding the project for integration

  • In Procore, go to App Management at the company level

  • Find the Trunk Tools connector and click View

  • Click Permissions, add the project to the list on the right, then click Add

Grant access to private folders

By default, TrunkText only syncs folders it has been explicitly granted access to. You can share a private folder with the integration the same way you share it with team members. To share a private folder:

  • In Procore, navigate to the folder you want to share

  • Click the info circle icon on the far right of the folder row

  • On the right panel expand Permissions and select Manage Permissions

  • In the search bar, type Trunk Tools and select the checkbox next to dataconnector-xxxxxx*

    • *This name will vary depending on what the data connector was named upon creation. A few examples it could include: TrunkTools, TT, TrunkText

  • Click Update

Note: Repeat this for each private folder you want TrunkText to sync.

Add the project in TrunkText

  • Navigate to Trunktext.com and sign in

  • Click the project name in the top-left corner and select the project you want to integrate

  • Select Integrations on your left navigation bar

  • Click + Add New Integration and select Procore as the source system then continue

Import Data Modules

Once the project is connected, you can choose which Procore data modules to sync into Trunk Tools (e.g., Documents, RFIs, Submittals).

  • Click on the row for the Procore integration

  • On the left side of the screen, you will see a list of available Procore modules (Documents, RFIs, Submittals, etc.)

  • Click on a module and toggle it on to begin the import

  • The files will begin importing into the Trunk Tools workspace. Please let your account manager know once you have integrated

Note: Initial imports may take some time depending on the volume of data. The status will update to Ready once processing is complete.
