Answers to the most common questions about TrunkText, the project intelligence Q&A agent.
1.) What is TrunkText?
TrunkText is the project intelligence Q&A agent. Ask a question by text message, on the web, or in Microsoft Teams, and it returns an answer pulled from your project documents, with the sources cited.
2.) What can I ask it?
Anything covered by your project documents — specs, drawings, schedules, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, bids, contracts, and meeting minutes. TrunkText reads and connects all of them so you can ask in plain language.
3.) How do I ask a question?
By text message, on the web, or in Microsoft Teams — whichever is easiest in the moment. Ask it the way you'd ask a knowledgeable teammate.
Using Microsoft Teams: Sign in to Teams with a Microsoft account that uses the same email as your Trunk Tools account. Each question you ask in Teams starts a new conversation, so include the full context in every message.
4.) How do I know the answer is right?
Every answer cites the documents it came from. Open the referenced sources to verify before you act. TrunkText is AI and can make mistakes, so the citations are there for you to check its work.
5.) Can I use it in the field?
Yes. Text TrunkText from any phone, or save the mobile web app to your home screen for quick access on site.
6.) Which documents does it draw from?
Your connected project documents. TrunkText works with Procore, Autodesk Forma, SharePoint, and CMiC, plus Box, Dropbox, and Egnyte where they're turned on for your project. Where direct upload is turned on, it also reads documents uploaded straight to Trunk Tools. See Supported File Types, Integrations & Document Limits.
7.) What if an answer looks wrong?
Let us know with the thumbs up or thumbs down under the answer — your feedback improves accuracy. Always verify against the cited sources before acting on an answer.
8.) How do I get access to TrunkText?
If TrunkText isn't set up on your project yet, or you have questions as you get going, reach out to your CSM.
