Good practices for document validation

  1. Photo placement
For the digital reading system to read the optimal information, it must be on a flat surface, with no other items around it, for example:

    • Screens

    • Paper

    • Textured clothes

This is because the background can interfere with the activated fraud models.

  2. Sharpness and focus
It is very important that the sharpness of the final photo taken is very clear in every part of the document and in focus, because if it is blurred, the face and letter recognition technology will not be able to detect the characters correctly. We therefore recommend:

    • Focus the photo correctly.

    • Make sure that the lens is clean and free of smudges.

    • Make sure the photo is clear and visible in every parameter before moving on to the next phase.

  3. Light and hologram
Sometimes the environment can have very strong light and can interfere with the photo, partially or completely covering the person's information. The hologram can also interfere with the photo, so we suggest:

Take the photo at a clear angle where all fields are visible and that sharp light and sharp holograms do not interfere, either with the data or the face.

  4. Document condition

It is important that the condition of the identity document of the person doing the process is good, in order to make a correct reading of the data and the face.

What should a good photo look like?

A clear photo, where all fields are visible with nothing obstructing the photo. Remember that the technology can detect characters to some extent, but if they are not visible, the validation of the person will fail. So before continuing with the process, I have to ask myself:

  • Is it clear enough in its entirety?

  • Does it meet the above requirements?
