What are outbound messages?

The outbound message is the one with which you start the conversation with your users. This message must be approved by the Facebook (Meta) team and can take up to 5 business days.

A WABA can support multiple outbound messages that can trigger different flows.

Features supported:

  • Buttons: max. 3 options, text only, 20 characters.

  • Variables: stored values of previous steps that can be used in the text of following messages.
    e.g. Your discount code is {{Truora2022}}.

  • Outbound parameters: send a personalized message.

    e.g. Hi {{name}}, How are you? > The {{name}} parameter will be replaced with “John” when send the outbound.

  • Outbound batch: send the same message to multiple users at the same time.
