K-1 delivery is available for any return where K-1 packages are detected. To ensure smooth processing:

  • K-1s must either be included in the return collation or uploaded as separate files with the return

  • Once uploaded, K-1s can be shared directly with recipients, tracked in File Shares, and accessed securely by clients

Uploading & Auto-Distribution of K-1's

Step 1: Click Send Returns from the Projects Dashboard

Step 2: Click Upload return

Step 3: Click Browse Files or drag and drop the files

Tip: If uploading multiple files, toggle button for multiple file upload before uploading your files

Step 4: Name Your Project and Add Contacts

Step 5: On the Review and Edit Tasks screen, find the Share K-1s task and choose:

  • Move - Send to another project and select the project

  • Keep - remains on this project for delivery to recipients

Step 6: Create Your project and Place signature fields

Step 7: Auto-Distribution. The current default is to delay sending K-1 packages until all e-signatures are complete. After signatures are collected we will automatically distribute the set of K-1.

Note: K-1s without partner email addresses, as well as updated or amended K-1s, are not included in auto-distribution. These must be sent manually by the firm.

If an e-Signature isn't included in the return the K-1s won't automatically send. We also offer an alternative firm setting where K-1s can be sent to shareholders immediately, without the return delivery including a client's e-signature. (Contact support if you’d like this option enabled.)

Manually Sending K-1's

Sending K-1s can be done from the firm or client project view.
