2. Getting started with tuple NZ - Create Course & Unit Offers

This area of tuple is where you create your deliveries for enrolment. These may change each year even if your qualifications stay the same.

Before you start:  Please ensure you have completed Step 1: Getting started with tuple NZ - initial setup

1. Add a Course Offer

Step 1: Navigate to TupleSMS > Courses 

Step 2: Name and Add Course Offer

  1. Open the Course that you wish to create a Course Offer from

  2. On the Left Navigation Bar, click Offers

  3. When the Offers page opens, click Action and Select Add

  4. Enter a Course Offer Code and Description   

NOTE: 

  • This is extremely important in order to easily identify information about your Course Offer and the groups of Learners you would enrol in each

  • The Course Offer Code and Description should be meaningful for your organisation and help you easily identify different groups of students

  • The Description may be in upper or lower case or a combination of the two. Some exports will produce a report in upper case only

  • We recommend that you establish internal guidelines for your Course Offer Codes and Descriptions

Step 3: Enter Dates

  1. Enter the Course Offer Start and End dates

  2. The Enrolment Period start and end dates will automatically populate from the Course Offer Start and End dates – change these if your Enrolment period is different

  3. Complete all remaining Fields

  4. Save

2. Add a Unit Offer

  1. Open the relevant Course Offer

  2. In the Left Navigation Bar, click Unit Offers

  3. On the top right select Click Add Unit offer

  4. This opens a drawer where you can choose one of the following options:

    1. Add New Unit Offers

      Create new unit offers directly from the course’s available unit list.

      1. Select one or more units using the checkboxes

      2. Click Add Unit Offers

    2. Copy Unit Offers from Another Offer

      Copy unit offers from an existing Course Offer.

      1. Search for your source Course Offer.

      2. Review the selected unit offers, and click Next.

      3. Configure the following:

        1. Copy Options > Select All will select all copy options so all available settings, dates, checklists, and related information are copied to the new Unit Offers.

        2. Unit Offer Code: Choose how the Unit Offer code for the new unit offers should be generated.

          1. Copy from selected Unit Offers: Uses the same Unit Offer code as the source Unit Offer being copied.

          2. Set from Unit Code plus suffix: Generates a new Unit Offer code using the Unit Code and an additional suffix you specify. Useful when creating a new delivery period, intake, or version. (e.g. BSB101_T1_2026). Just enter the required suffix. (e.g. _T1_2026).

        3. Copy Child Unit Offers: Copies any Child Unit Offers linked to the selected Unit Offers and creates corresponding Child Unit Offers under the new parent Unit Offers. [See How To Add Linked Unit Offers (Parent/Child Relationships)]

        4. Set Unit Offer dates from the selected Course Offer: Updates the new Unit Offer start and end dates to match the dates of the selected Course Offer.

        5. Set Unit Offer details from the selected Course Offer: Copies relevant details from the selected Course Offer to the new Unit Offer, helping ensure consistency between the Course Offer and its associated Unit Offers.

        6. Copy Checklists across for each Unit Offer: Copies any checklists attached to the source Unit Offers to the new Unit Offers.

        7. Copy Enrolment Checklist Templates for each Unit Offer: Copies enrolment checklist templates from the source Unit Offers to the new Unit Offers.

      4. Click Confirm Copy Unit Offers.

    3. Link Existing Unit Offers (See How to Manage Shared Unit Offers)

      Link unit offers that already exist in the system to your current course offer.

      1. Search for the existing unit offers via the dropdown.

      2. Choose and review the relevant unit offer.

      3. Click Link Unit Offers

All done?  Great work! You can now move on to Step 3: add and enrol learners.

NOTE:

You can find reports #9017 and #9018 in the course offer > reports page. Use these two reports to download the raw data and compile them into suitable formats as you require.

Report #9017: Full Client Details Report
This report contains details of learners' age, gender, iwi, ethnicity (demographics) and course enrolment information.

Report #9018: Client Course and Unit Enrolments
This report contains course, unit enrolment (sdr) and demographic information for each learner.
