Overview
In this guide, we will verify that Lister Connect is installed and working correctly with Lister by printing a test label to your printer.

Running a Test Print
Before starting a test print, make sure your printer is powered on, has labels loaded, and is connected to your computer.
Step 1: Verify Lister Connect is Running
Lister Connect is the background app that powers the connection between Lister and label printers. Follow the steps below to verify it’s running in Windows or Mac.
How to Verify Lister Connect is running on Windows
Click the Windows menu icon in the bottom left corner of your desktop
Type “Lister Connect” into the search bar
Click the Lister Connect icon in the search results
How to Verify Lister Connect is running on Mac
Open the Spotlight search tool (⌘ command + space) and search for "Lister Connect"
Select “Lister Connect” from the Applications section in the search results
A blue Upright Labs icon in the top right status menu of your desktop indicates Lister Connect is actively running
Step 2: Click Printer Icon
Click the printer icon in the top right corner of Lister to open the Lister Connect menu.
If the printer icon is RED, ensure Lister Connect is running by following the steps above, then click the blue “Reconnect” button in the printer dropdown menu.
Step 3: Verify Printer and Label Format
Select your printer from the Label Printer dropdown menu
Select ZPL label format for Zebra Printers or PDF (Dymo) for Dymo printers

Step 4: Select Test Print Label Size
Select the type of label for the test print from the dropdown menu. Lister supports the following label formats:
Barcode Labels: 3.5” x 1.125”
Shipping Labels: 4” x 6”
Step 5: Print Label
Click the printer icon next to the Test Print dropdown menu to print a label of the selected choice.
Troubleshooting
Label Printer Missing from Dropdown Menu
Click the refresh icon next to the Label Printer menu
Verify the label printer is powered on and connected to your computer
Confirm the Label Printer and Model are on the Supported Equipment Guide
Restart your computer
Barcodes Won’t Scan
Verify the label format matches the printer (ZPL for Zebra printers, PDF for Dymo printers)
Verify the printer darkness level by following the steps linked below for Zebra or Dymo Printers
