Overview

After an item has been photographed and the listing process is complete, assigning an inventory location to the product is a key component in effective inventory management and order fulfillment workflows. This guide shows best practices for adding items to inventory using Reshelf in Link or via Lister.

How to Put Away Products Using Reshelf Mode in Link (Recommended)

With Bulk Reshelf in Link, you can easily move products from location to location. Scan as many product barcodes as you like, and as soon as a shelf is scanned, the products will be moved instantly.

This is our recommended method for inventory putaway as it provides the most flexibility for your operation and doesn’t require bringing a laptop computer or tablet into inventory to assign locations.

You can use a Bluetooth Ring scanner with Link to expedite inventory management even further, as these scanners read barcodes more quickly than the camera in Link.

Reshelf In Link with Ring Barcode Scanner

  1. Open the Link app and tap “Reshelf” from the home screen

  2. Scan all product barcodes being moved to an inventory location. Images of each item will show on the screen as they are scanned

  3. Scan the inventory location barcode to move items to that location

Reshelf In Link with Camera

  1. Open the Link app and tap “Reshelf” from the home screen

  2. Tap the blue scan icon to open the camera app

  3. Line up the product barcode with the camera

    • Once the barcode is recognized, the top of the page will show “Scanned,” and the SKU will show at the bottom of the screen

    • Repeat for all items being moved to the inventory location.

  4. Line up the inventory location barcode in the camera app

  5. Once scanned, products will be moved to inventory location

How to Use Quick Reshelf Mode in Lister

If your operation doesn’t have access to using Link Reshelf mode, you can access similar functions in Lister using a laptop or tablet with an attached barcode scanner.

  1. Navigate to the Product page, click "More actions" then select "Quick Reshelf"

  2. Scan the product barcodes into the pop-up window

  3. Click the dropdown under "Reshelf to location"

  4. Scan the inventory location barcode or manually select from the dropdown list

  5. Click the blue "Rehself" button to assign the products to the location

  6. Place the products in the physical inventory location

How to Bulk Edit Locations in Lister

You can bulk edit locations from the Product page using the Bulk Edit option. This method isn't recommended because there are increased chances of error. When bulk editing in Lister, the product and inventory locations aren't being scanned to verify the correct items are in the correct place.

  1. Click the checkboxes to the left of the items you want to move to a new location

  2. Click the Actions menu

  3. Click Bulk Edit

  4. Select the inventory location in the pop-up box

  5. Click the blue “Edit products” button

How to Manually Assign Inventory Locations on the Product Page

In certain scenarios, editing the product location from within the Product page may be more ideal than using Bulk Reshelf in Link (Recommended workflow) or Quick Reshelf in Lister. This guide will walk you through how to edit an inventory location directly on the product page.

  1. Click "Products" on the top right menu of Lister to get to the product page

  2. Click or search for the product you'd like to add a location for

  3. Click on the product's title

  4. Click "Edit" at the bottom of the product's pop-up page on the right-hand side

  5. Scroll down a little until you reach the "Inventory Location" box

  6. Type in or click the drop-down arrow to find and select the product's desired inventory location

  7. Click “Save” in the top right corner
