How to View Channel Options and Overrides

Channel options and Overrides allow fine-tuning of how your eBay listing is priced and optimized for eBay search results. They also provide control over the start time and listing duration.

💡Operational Tip: Listing Strategies, Default eBay Admin Settings, and Builder Templates will automatically fill out most of these details, but they can be overridden manually.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the listing page when creating or editing a listing to see the channel options tab

  • By default, the listing page shows the Channel Options. Click “Overrides” to move to that tab. Learn more about overrides here

Channel Options

Channel Options are used to control specific fields in the eBay Listing store and can be used to override default settings from a listing strategy.

  1. Category: Override the category selected when first creating the listing

  2. Store Category: Assign the listing to a custom eBay store category

  3. Listing Type: Choose between Auction or Fixed Price

  4. Listing Duration: Change the default listing duration set in either the listing strategy or admin settings

  5. Start Time: Choose between listing immediately or a scheduled listing for a start date in the future

  6. Starting Price: Set the starting bid for the auction

  7. Buy It Now Price: Adds a Buy It Now option to the listing. To create a Buy It Now listing, change the Listing Type box (3) to Buy It Now

  8. Reserve Price: Set the reserve price for auction listings. If this minimum amount is not met, the listing will end without a sale

  9. Handling Time (Days): Override the default business days between when an item is paid and when the buyer can expect it to ship

  10. Allow Best Offer: Adds a best offer option to a Buy It Now listing

  11. Auto Decline if Less Than: Sets a best offer minimum price

  12. Auto Accept If Greaet then or Equal to: Sets a price that a best offer will automatically be accepted

  13. Shipping Profile: Select or override your eBay Business Shipping Policy for the listing

  14. Returns Profile: Select or override your eBay Business Return Policy for the listing

  15. Payment Profile: Select or override the payment policy

  16. Condition: Set or override the item condition

  17. Condition Description: Allows you to add a custom condition description to used or pre-owned items

  18. Required and Optional Specifics: When filling in the specifics about your item, you'll find that some fields are required depending on which category (box 1) you selected

    • Item specifics may include brand, size, type, color, style, or other relevant information about the item you're selling.

    • Click the “Show optional specifics” link to expand the field to see other item specifics

💡 Operational Tip: Item Specifics (box 18) are automatically imported from builder templates if the builder temple input matches the name of the item specific.

Overrides

Overrides are fields that will change the title or description that are automatically filled out while listing a product. Clicking on the padlock icon to the right of each field allows manual adjustments to the title or description.

  1. Title: This will overwrite the tile created during the initial listing process if it needs additional changes

  2. Description: This will overwrite the Lister product description. Similar to the Title override, it will allow the eBay listing to contain a different description than the description given to the product in Lister
