Host your landing pages on a custom subdomain.

Updated over a week ago

A subdomain is an extension of the root domain that helps you organize different pages or directories on your website. For example, www. is a subdomain; other examples are about.mywebsite.com, blog.mywebsite.com, or learn.mywebsite.com. The prefixes before 'mywebsite.com' are examples of subdomains.

Connect a subdomain (automated)

Userled connects with 40+ domain providers to automate the configuration of your subdomain for you.

  1. Navigate to https://app.userled.io/integrations/customDomain to access your custom domain configuration settings.

  2. Click "Connect now" and follow the steps to start connecting a custom subdomain.

  3. Select I want to use a subdomain and enter your subdomain and domain.

  4. Userled will detect your DNS provider and prompt you to login to authorize and connect your new subdomain on your behalf. If you don't have admin access to your DNS provider, you can invite an admin to do so on your behalf (see section below).

  5. Once you have logged in, Userled will create a new CNAME record in your DNS provider to connect your new subdomain.

  6. Your custom subdomain will be in a pending verifying state until we are able to verify the connection was made successfully. Once we have verified the connection, the status will change to Enabled at which point all new landing pages generated will be hosted on your custom subdomain.

Invite an admin to connect your subdomain

If you don't have admin access to your DNS provider, you can easily invite an admin to perform this step for you.

  1. When being asked to log in to your DNS provider, click "Or forward login to someone else" and copy the link to share it with the admin.

  2. Once shared, toggle "I have shared the link" so Userled can start verifying the connection".

Manually connect your subdomain

If you or your DNS provider admin wish to connect your subdomain manually you can do so by clicking "Show added DNS records".

Simply add a CNAME record to your DNS provider with the following values to connect your custom subdomain.

Record: CNAME

Host: <your subdomain of choice> (for example lp)

Value: cname.userled.io.

Note: Be sure to include the . at the end of the Value. Some dns providers add it automatically but not all.
