On occasion, you may find it necessary to change some of the information on an existing locate request. Rather than cancel your existing request and re-enter the information again, you can use the Ticket Edit function to make the changes required.

Using Ticket Edit allows you to anything from an incorrect phone number to an incorrect address. The function cancels your original ticket, and creates a new ticket with the corrected information, with a reference to the original ticket number for the notified facility owners.

Follow these steps to Edit the information on an existing ticket.

Find and Select the ticket you wish to edit in your ticket history found in Search Tickets:

This will then open your previous request for viewing.

On the top-right, the Actions button will allow you to modify the existing request in myriad ways. Click Edit to modify an existing request.

This will open a Ticket Edit dialog, where your reason for the Edit is entered. For example "To add onsite contact" or "To correct excavation method" are clear reasons. The Dig Site Location and drawn map cannot be changed using the Ticket Edit function, instead Cancel the original ticket (if necessary) and use the Copy function to submit a new requset.

Note: If your ticket is past due (past your intended Ticket Start Date), you will not be able to modify it's contents. A new ticket must be issued, which can be done using the "Copy" Ticket Action.

Select "Copy" to open a copy of the request where the necessary changes can be made.

Once in the ticket, you will be able to modify or change anything you like.

Note: When using the Edit, Relocate, or Cancel functions, you will receive an updated Revision Number rather than an entirely new Ticket number.
