Scheduling and Customizing a Spintopia Game

If you'd like to customize team names, or change the "Free" space to a "Prize" space in a Spintopia game, you will need to manually load a game from our "Game Schedule".

  1. From left menu panel, select GAME SCHEDULE

  2. At top right, click on the ADD GAME button

    1. You will be presented with the Add Game screen (Pictured above)

  3. Fill in the data fields

    1. Community: select the Community at which the game will be played

    2. Game Name: select the game to be played (e.g., Spintopia)

      1. If the game you want to play does not appear or no games at all appear, please contact UE Customer Support via the chat box in the bottom right corner of the screen

    3. Difficulty: select the difficulty level at which you want to set the game (Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme)

    4. Date and time of Game: select date and specify time of day you want to play.

      1. Click on the calendar icon at the right end of the “Date of Game” field.

        1. First click on the date

        2. Second, click on the clock at the bottom of the date/time panel to enter the time

        3. Note: The date/time field will automatically use the time zone applicable to the community for which you are scheduling the game

        4. You can start the game at any time, so if you play it earlier or later than the scheduled time, it will still allow you to play the game.

    5. Host email: enter or select the email address of the person who will be the “game host”

      1. The drop down list will include all members of your community and all UE Game Hosts

        1. You can type part of the host’s name OR the host’s email

          1. The drop down list will filter to show only those names that contain what you typed

          2. Click on the host name to select

    6. Join Link: (OPTIONAL)

      1. This field is here for you if you plan to use a video-conferencing program (Zoom, Google Meets, etc.) to have outside people join your game

      2. After you schedule your Zoom session or Google Meet, copy and paste the URL for the meeting in this field

        1. You can copy this link later to share it with outside people you might like to invite to join your game

    7. Custom Spinner Space (applicable only to Spintopia) – select from the drop down menu

      1. Free – when the player lands on this space, he gets special opportunities during game play

      2. Prize – “Prize” will replace the “Free” spaces on the Spintopia game spinner to allow you to offer a special prize during this game (e.g., $5 Starbucks card)

  4. The right side of the Add Game screen allows you to select players (contestants)

    1. Player # – select the player from your list of Community Persons

      1. Only members of your community will appear in the dropdown- You can select any of the colored teams from the drop down menu

    2. Player display name – enter how you want the team name to appear during the game. Limit the display name to 10 characters to optimize the appearance during game play.

    3. Repeat the steps in described above for up to 4 players or teams

  5. You may add players now or later

    1. The drop down list in the Player 1 through 4 data boxes will display all members of the community for which this game is being scheduled

    2. It is not required to select players before saving the newly created game

      1. Before the game starts, however, there must be AT LEAST ONE player selected.

  6. When all game details are correct, click the Save button at the bottom of the Add Game screen

    1. You will be returned to the Scheduled Games listing screen
