One of our main priorities at V1 Sports is to provide tools that help nurture the relationship between athletes and their coaches. By adding your student's name to the V1 COACH app, you can organize their videos under their profile. When you also add their email, it sends an invitation for the athlete to connect with you in their V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app.
There are several benefits to your athlete using the FREE V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app:
1. Safe, secure cloud storage of videos. The app is and will remain compliant with evolving data privacy laws and regulations. There is also no risk of lost videos due to a damaged or lost device.
2. Untethered access to lessons and videos. Whether at the driving range or on a golf vacation, they will always have access to you and your lessons.
3. Improved connection to you. Not only can you send videos and voice-over lessons, but you can also send chat messages. Check in on progress midweek, share a payment or booking link, or reengage with a former athlete. Stop getting lost in busy text and email inboxes and connect directly in the app.
4. Easily record and send swings to you. The V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app makes it easy for your athletes to record their swings and send them to you. This is perfect for online lessons, but also a great way to check in on progress between lessons.
All of these benefits are FREE to your athlete in the V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app.
Solution Overview
From the home screen, tap the people icon to go to the Athletes section.
Tap the + icon in the upper right corner to add a new athlete.
Enter the athlete's first and last name, then tap "Next."
Enter the athlete's email address and confirm it. You can also select "Add Contact Info Later" if you don't have the email address available.
Tap "Add and Invite Athlete." An email invitation for the V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app will be sent to the provided email address.
Tactical Rundown
Step 1
Tap the people icon from the home screen to open your athletes list. This list functions like your contact list or CRM within the V1 COACH app. The list is sorted alphabetically by last name for easy navigation. To quickly find a specific athlete, use the search bar at the top of the screen and enter either their first or last name.
Step 2
Tap the + icon in the upper right corner to add a new athlete. Enter their first and last name, then tap "Next." You can edit these fields later if you need to. If you have multiple athletes with the same name, you may want to use another identifier of your choice to differentiate them. For example, using "Nick Smith from Oakland" as a name is acceptable if it helps you distinguish between athletes with similar names.
Step 3
Tap "Next," then enter your athlete's email address. Confirm the email by entering it again. Tap "Add and Invite Athlete" to send the invitation. Your student will receive an email from V1 Sports inviting them to connect with you in the V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app.
The athlete should follow the steps provided in the email. This step is not time-sensitive so it can be completed before or after your lesson.
If you don't add an email at this stage, your athletes won't get an email invitation to connect with you. They will also be unable to receive lessons or videos from you. If you want to add an email later, you can do so by tapping "Update" next to the athlete's name. Adding their email at that time will also trigger an email invitation to connect with you.
FAQs
Why do I have to put in my athlete's email?
It is not required, but entering your athlete's email triggers an invitation to be sent to them so they can connect with you in the V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app. This connection allows you to send lessons, videos, and chats to your athletes in-app.
Won't you just use/sell/market to this email?
When an athlete accepts your invitation and enters the V1 GOLF or V1 BASEBALL app, we understand that they are there to work with you. We will communicate with them about how to use the app, new content, and available sales and promotions, but we aim to keep this communication valuable and relevant. Your athletes will have complete control over the types of emails they wish to receive, if any, by using our email subscription center.
What if I enter the wrong email for the athlete?
If you realize that you have entered the wrong email address for an athlete, you will need to create a new athlete profile with the correct email at this time. This action will trigger a new invitation to be sent to the athlete. Please contact our support team for assistance with moving videos between athlete profiles.
