How Vantage works alongside your MIS/ERP

How Vantage fits with your existing MIS, ERP, and other business software.

System of record vs System of execution

Vantage is designed to work alongside your existing MIS or ERP. Understanding the difference between what the two do explains how Vantage fits into your existing workflow.

System of record (your MIS / ERP)

System of execution (Vantage)

Stores your business data: client details, job history, financials, estimates, invoices

Manages the execution of work: scheduling, assigning teams, tracking field progress, coordinating subcontractors

Source of truth for what was sold and at what price

Source of truth for what is happening in the field right now

Used by estimators, accountants, and operations managers

Used by project managers, coordinators, field installers, and subcontractors

What you can do in Vantage

  • Schedule events and assign field crews

  • Track event status from creation through completion

  • Share job documents and photos with field teams

  • Capture completion reports and client signatures in the field

  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage vendor invoices

  • Track time against events via timesheets

  • Log problems (incidents, shortages) as they happen

How Vantage connects with your ERP/MIS

  1. You win an order and invoice it in your MIS.

  2. You create a Project in Vantage with one or more Events (or the job details come in automatically through an integration).

  3. You schedule events, assign crews, and your team carries out the work in the field.

  4. Field crews capture completion reports, photos, and time logs in Vantage as work progresses.

  5. You review completions and vendor invoices in Vantage. With an integration, the data syncs back to your MIS automatically.

Some Vantage customers use the Vantage API or integrations (such as Zapier or Make.com) to automate the connection between Vantage and the other tools they use to run their shop.

FAQ

How do Vantage and my ERP/MIS work together?

Your MIS or ERP stores business data: estimates, invoices, job history, and financials. Vantage manages execution: scheduling, crew assignments, field progress, and completion sign-off. They work together, each handling a different part of the workflow.

Does Vantage integrate with my MIS?

Vantage has a public API and supports integrations via Zapier and Make.com (formerly Integromat). Current integrations include Corebridge, Lift, PrintIQ, and Pace.

Will I need to enter job data twice?

Not if you connect Vantage with your MIS. With an integration, job data flows into Vantage automatically and execution data (completions, time logs, vendor invoices) syncs back. Without an integration, you create projects in Vantage manually.

Can I use Vantage without an MIS?

Yes. You create projects and events directly in Vantage. You would still need separate tools for estimating, invoicing, and accounting.
