Project opportunities

Learn how to create and track potential deals, and turn approved deals into projects in Vantage.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

Opportunities in Vantage help you track potential deals before they turn into active projects. Use them to capture incoming work, follow it through quoting and approval, update the status as it moves forward, and keep all client, pricing, and ownership details in one place.

The Opportunities feature is not enabled by default in Vantage. Contact our support if you’d like to enable it.

Creating an opportunity

To add a new potential deal, go to the Opportunities tab, click Add new opportunity, and fill in the key details in the drawer.

Adding pricing info

Each opportunity includes pricing info to help you estimate the deal:

  • Labor cost for your team to produce, install, or service the signage or graphics.

  • Travel costs related to getting your team to the job site (e.g., fuel or overnight stays).

  • Materials physical materials needed for the job (e.g., vinyl, frames, or hardware).

  • Vended costs from third-party vendors or subcontractors.

  • Misc – any additional costs.

The Total is calculated automatically based on the amounts you enter.

Opportunities use the currency from your workspace settings for all pricing fields.

Activity history

The activity history shows what changed, who updated it, and when, so your team can easily follow how the deal has progressed.

Task lists

You can attach a task list to an opportunity to outline the steps needed to move the deal forward. This helps everyone clearly see who’s responsible and what still needs to be done before the deal moves forward.

Learn more about adding and managing task lists in this article.

Opportunity flow

You can move opportunities through a simple set of statuses as potential deals progress:

Status

Description

Draft

A newly created deal.

Sent

The proposal was sent to the client for review.

Won

The client approved the proposal, and the opportunity can be converted into a project.

Lost

The client decided not to move ahead with the proposal.

The Opportunity owner receives a notification whenever the status changes unless they made the change themselves.

You can use the Opportunities feature to track deal progress internally. Proposals aren’t sent to the clients directly from Vantage.

When you mark an opportunity as “Won”, you’ll be prompted to convert it into a project in Vantage. You can choose to copy documents, comments, and the description into the new project.

Opportunities marked as “Lost” are hidden by default. You can include them by adjusting the filters on the Opportunities page.

Attaching documents

You can attach documents to an opportunity to keep all job-related files in one place.

Adding comments

You can use comments to discuss the opportunity with your team directly in Vantage.
