Made-to-order and Arta shipping

Written by The Oblist

Made-to-order lines

If a line is made-to-order, it needs production time before shipment. The dashboard may show a maximum lead time in weeks based on product settings.

Estimates first, firm quotes later

Until made-to-order items are marked ready, you may see delivery estimatesindicative amounts, not always immediately bookable.

The banner usually says:

  • “These are estimates only. Mark items as ready to get final bookable quotes.”

Mixing made-to-order and in-stock in one shipment

If you combine made-to-order and stock in the same shipment, the UI warns everything ships together once all items are ready. To ship stock without waiting for MTO, remove the made-to-order lines from the selection and request quotes again (if the UI allows).

After “ready”

Once MTO pieces are ready, return to the order and request fresh quotes; you’ll get bookable options like a standard order.

Buyer payment steps on MTO orders

On some MTO orders a step tracker may appear (production, buyer freight payment when applicable, etc.). Follow the statuses shown; if unsure, email customer@oblist.com with the order number.

FAQ

Why can’t I confirm an estimate?
Estimates aren’t the same as firm quotes — wait until items are ready and final quotes are generated.

Can prices change between estimate and final?
Yes — lane, carriers, and conditions can shift; refresh quotes when you’re ready to ship.
