1. Before you receive orders: set products up correctly
Shipping quotes depend on your product data. In your product form, make sure each item has:
Weight + unit
Length, width, height
Correct category (especially for furniture / fragile pieces)
If these fields are missing, quote requests can be blocked and the order page will show a Missing information alert.
2. Set your shipping origin once
Sign in at https://pro.oblist.com.
Go to Account → Shipping Address (
/dashboard/account/shipping).Use your business address or enter a dedicated pickup address.
Save contact details used for carrier pickup.
This address is used as the origin when booking shipping through the platform.
3. For each order, choose how to ship
Open Orders → Order detail. In the shipping section, you can:
Ship via The Oblist: request and compare carrier quotes
Ship with your own carrier: add tracking manually
For costly shipments, this choice matters because quote totals can exceed what was initially expected.
4. How to reduce high quote outcomes
When requesting quotes, you can improve accuracy and sometimes reduce price:
Select only the items you want in this shipment (split large orders if needed).
Mark fragile items when relevant.
Choose packing mode:
Carrier packs items (default), or
I already packed this item / box (enter exact outer box dimensions and weight).
If quotes look very high, try again with your real packed-box dimensions, or switch to manual shipping with your own carrier.
5. If no suitable quote is available
If standard options are unavailable, use Request Custom Quote in the order shipping flow.
Status changes to custom quote in progress and is typically resolved in 1–3 business days.
6. Made-to-order (MTO) and expensive shipping
For some MTO categories, shipping may be handled in two steps:
Initial estimate range
Customer shipping payment confirmation
Production
Final quote + booking once items are ready
Important: if payment is still pending, do not start production yet.
7. Practical pricing guidance for bulky items
For products that often produce expensive transport:
Keep your product retail price aligned with realistic logistics costs and handling.
Recheck quote behavior periodically (rates and surcharges change).
Prefer separate shipments when combining items creates oversized packages.
If shipping is repeatedly too high vs item value, compare with your own carrier and use manual shipping when better.
