Why Can’t I Book If the Calendar Shows Availability?

Seeing open dates but unable to book? Here's why that might happen — and how we can help.

Updated yesterday

If you’re seeing availability on the calendar but aren’t able to submit a booking request, don’t worry — it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:

Minimum Stay Requirement
Many Vidle Housing listings have a 30-day minimum or other stay requirements. If your dates don’t meet that minimum, the system may block booking.

Booking Lead Time
Some hosts require bookings to be made a certain number of days in advance (e.g., at least 3 days before check-in). If you’re too close to the arrival date, the calendar may appear open but won’t allow booking.

Host Blocked Dates or Pending Updates
Hosts sometimes forget to update their calendars or may have blocked dates manually without adjusting availability settings.
