Trouble with Self-Check-In?

Here’s how to complete your self-check-in — and what to do if you’re stuck.

We want your arrival to be smooth and stress-free. If you’re unsure how to access your unit after booking, follow these steps:


How Self-Check-In Works

Most Vidle Housing properties use one of the following:

  • Smart lock (keypad or app)

  • Lockbox with a physical key

  • Secured entry code provided by the host


Where to Find Your Check-In Instructions

  • Check your booking confirmation email

  • Log into your Vidle Housing dashboard → My Bookings to view instructions and access messages from your host


Contact Your Host

If you’re having trouble checking in, reach out to your host directly first — they can often resolve the issue immediately.

To message your host:

  1. Go to your Vidle Housing dashboard

  2. Click My Trips

  3. Select your reservation and click Message Host

Examples of issues to mention:

  • Lockbox isn’t where expected

  • Entry code is missing or not working

  • Door or unit can’t be located

If you can’t reach your host or need additional help, contact Vidle Housing Support and we’ll step in right away.

We’ll contact the host on your behalf, verify access details, and guide you through the next steps to ensure a safe, smooth check-in.
