Space Is Shared But Listing Said “Private”

If your unit is being shared when it was advertised as private, here’s what to do.

Updated this week

If you arrive and find that parts of your unit are being shared — but the listing was labeled as an “Entire Place” — we want to help resolve it right away.

Step 1: Confirm What’s Being Shared
Identify which areas aren’t private (for example, a shared kitchen, bathroom, or entrance). This will help you clearly explain the issue to your host.

Step 2: Contact Your Host
Reach out to your host directly to let them know what you’ve noticed. In many cases, they can clarify the situation or resolve a misunderstanding right away.

Step 3: Provide Details to Us
If the issue isn’t resolved after speaking with your host, reach out to us. Include a brief description and a few photos showing the shared areas — this helps us verify the situation against the original listing.

Step 4: We’ll Contact the Host
Once we’ve reviewed your report, we will reach out to the host to confirm whether a mistake occurred and work toward a fair resolution.

If the space was clearly misrepresented, we may offer a partial refund, update the listing, or help you find a new unit, depending on the situation.

Your privacy matters, and we’re here to help make things right. support@vidlesupport.com
