Bed Bugs in Unit

If you suspect bed bugs in your unit, here’s what to do right away and how Vidle Housing will respond.

We’re very sorry to hear you may have encountered bed bugs — we understand how distressing that can be. Vidle Housing takes all reports of pest issues seriously and will act quickly to support you.

What to Do Immediately:

  • Stop using the bed or moving personal belongings to prevent spread.

  • Take clear photos or videos of any sightings, bites, or signs (e.g., spots on bedding).

  • Avoid unpacking or placing items on soft furniture until the issue is reviewed.

  • Notify your host right away so they’re aware of the situation and can take immediate action.


What We’ll Do:

  • After you’ve notified your host, contact us to report the issue.

  • We’ll contact the host as well and escalate your report to our internal team.

  • Depending on confirmation and severity, we may arrange for a pest inspection, relocation, or issue a refund.

  • We’ll keep you updated on next steps and coordinate any moves or treatments needed.
