What Should Be Reported?
Examples of behavior that should be reported may include:
Discriminatory comments or treatment.
Harassment or repeated unwanted communication.
Threats or intimidation.
Abusive, degrading, or offensive language.
Sexual harassment or inappropriate advances.
Retaliation after raising a concern.
Targeting someone based on a protected characteristic.
Other behavior that creates a threatening, hostile, or unsafe environment.
Step 1: Prioritize Immediate Safety
If you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Vidle Housing Support is not a replacement for police, fire, emergency medical services, or other emergency responders.
Once you are safe, contact Vidle Housing Support so our team can document the situation and review any platform-related action that may be appropriate.
Step 2: Document the Incident
Provide as much relevant information as possible, including:
Date and time of the incident.
A clear description of what occurred.
Messages exchanged through Vidle Housing.
Screenshots.
Photos or videos, when relevant and legally obtained.
Names of witnesses, if applicable.
Police or incident reports, if available.
Information about any previous related incidents.
Do not put yourself at risk to gather evidence.
Step 3: Contact Vidle Housing Support
Report the concern through Vidle Housing Support and provide all available information.
A support case may be created to document the report, communication, evidence, and follow-up.
Depending on the circumstances, our team may request additional information before completing a review.
What Happens After a Report Is Submitted?
Vidle Housing may review:
Reservation details.
Messages sent through the platform.
Screenshots or other documentation.
Photos or videos.
Previous reports or warnings.
Information provided by the individuals involved.
Other relevant evidence.
Depending on the nature and severity of the situation, next steps may include:
Additional information requests.
Communication with the individuals involved.
Warnings or policy reminders.
Account restrictions.
Listing restrictions.
Account suspension or removal.
Other action considered appropriate based on the available information.
Each situation is reviewed individually.
Reporting Discrimination
Vidle Housing does not tolerate unlawful discrimination.
Users should not be treated unfairly based on legally protected characteristics under applicable federal, state, or local law.
If you believe you were denied a reservation, treated differently, harassed, or otherwise discriminated against, provide as much documentation as possible when submitting your report.
Reporting Harassment or Threatening Behavior
If someone is repeatedly contacting you, using abusive language, making threats, or engaging in other unwanted behavior:
Do not escalate the conversation.
Keep communication on the Vidle Housing platform whenever possible.
Save screenshots and messages.
Contact Vidle Housing Support.
Contact local authorities if you believe there is an immediate safety threat.
Will My Report Remain Confidential?
Vidle Housing handles reports as carefully as possible. However, certain information may need to be reviewed or shared as part of an investigation, response, legal obligation, or safety concern.
We cannot guarantee complete confidentiality in every situation.
Protection Against Retaliation
Retaliation against someone for making a good-faith report of discrimination, harassment, or another serious safety concern may itself be considered a policy violation.
If you experience retaliation after submitting a report, contact Vidle Housing Support immediately and provide any additional documentation.
If you experience or witness discrimination, harassment, threats, or other concerning behavior, contact Vidle Housing Support as soon as possible.
For immediate danger or emergencies, contact local emergency services first.
Vidle Housing will review reports based on the available evidence and take appropriate action when warranted.
