Two Factor Authentication

In your account security settings you can choose to enable two factor authentication (2FA) for your account. When enabled a user has to enter a generated security code in addition to their regular password when attempting to log in. This option adds a very secure extra layer of protection to your account, helping us ensure your data is safe with us. πŸ”’
If requested by a company administrator, we at Vizibl can also make this feature a requirement for all users in a company, organisation, or relationship. 🀝

To get started navigate to your account settings and open the security tab:

You can choose to set up 2FA with the Google Authenticator app (available on both the Android and Apple App Store free of charge) to get your procedurally generated login codes. Alternatively, the login codes can also be received directly via SMS. 2FA is enabled or disabled in the security section of the user account security settings menu. Please note that if 2FA is a requirement for your account, you will not be able to disable it yourself and will be shown a message explaining why.
To get started enter your account password, choose your preferred authentication method, and finally click "Enable 2FA".

If you prefer to receive your authentication codes by SMS simply enter your mobile number (including area code) and confirm.
If you've selected Google Authenticator simply scan the barcode provided with your phone and enter the code generated by the app.

Once you've entered a code successfully a set of backup codes will be generated in case you ever lose your device. Each code is good for a one-time login to your account without an authenticator (please note that you will still need to enter your regular account password even if you use a backup code). Please make sure to store them securely as we can not recover the backup codes for you later.

When 2FA is set up there will be an additional step you have to complete before you can access your account. As usual, you will need to start by entering your regular account password:

Once you've successfully entered your password you will be prompted to enter a code generated by your Google authenticator. If you instead choose to enable 2FA via SMS the code will be sent directly to your phone automatically as soon as you attempt to log in. Once your 2FA code has been accepted you will be logged in to the platform. If you have lost your device you can still access your account by entering a backup code.

Once the backup code has been accepted you will be logged in to the platform. We recommend updating your security settings as soon as possible if you ever lose your device as each backup code is only good for a one-time use.
