AI Voice Privacy

Text you enter for AI Voice is never used to train AI models. This page explains how your text is handled.

How Your Text Flows

When you load AI voice audio, your text is sent through Voicepaper's server to the AI voice provider (OpenAI / xAI) solely to generate audio.

The generated audio is stored on your device and reused for repeat playback.

How Voicepaper's Servers Handle Your Text

  • Voicepaper's servers only relay the audio generation request and manage your usage (credits).

  • They do not store the content of your text or the generated audio.

  • Only management information such as usage amounts is recorded — never the text itself.

How AI Voice Providers Handle Your Text

Each provider officially states that data sent via their API is not used to train their AI models.

  • OpenAI (ChatGPT voices): Data sent to the API is not used to train or improve OpenAI's models. It is retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted. See: OpenAI's data usage policy

  • xAI (Grok voices): xAI states it never trains on API inputs or outputs without explicit permission. Data is retained for 30 days for abuse monitoring, then automatically deleted. See: xAI's API security FAQ
