Ready to make the most of your Volunteero app? This guide walks you through setting up and personalising your profile, from updating your details and managing notifications to adjusting your settings and keeping your account secure.

Getting Started with the Volunteero App

Welcome to the world of Volunteero! The revolutionary app that brings volunteering to your fingertips! 🌟

Volunteero makes it easier than ever to create meaningful change in your community. Whether you’re signing up for missions, tracking your hours, or celebrating your impact, everything you need is right here.

This article focuses on setting up and managing your profile, from updating your details and adding a photo to adjusting your settings and enabling extra security. Let’s take a quick tour so you can get the most out of your Volunteero app!

Navigating the App

On mobile, you’ll find four main tabs at the bottom of your screen:

  • Home: View your missions and shifts. Explore new missions that are available to join.

  • Learning: Complete training in order to gain qualifications.

  • Chats: Stay connected with your team.

  • Profile: Manage your account, see your achievements, and personalise your experience.

If you’re using Volunteero on the web version, these tabs will appear across the top instead.

This article focuses on the Profile tab, where you can update your details, track your progress, and manage your settings.


Your Profile Overview

At the top of your profile, you’ll see:

  • Your name

  • Your profile picture: just tap the cartoon icon to update it. Feeling confident? Take a quick selfie! Prefer a polished look? Upload a photo from your camera roll. This picture is visible to your organisation, so pick something friendly and professional.

  • Your organisation

  • Badges: here, you can view all the badges you’ve already earned, as well as discover new ones you can work towards, if your organisation has set them up. It’s a great way to celebrate your achievements!

  • Recent activity: In here you will be able to see your volunteering hours, Reports Submitted, Reporting Streak, Badge Earned, as well as a timeline of important activity.


Account

Account Settings

Edit Profile

To edit your profile:

  1. Head to 'Account Settings'

  2. In 'Edit Profile', you can manage your personal details and settings. Here, you can update your:

  • Phone number

  • Name

  • Date of birth

  • EDI information

  • About section

  • Address

Once updated, hit 'Save Changes', and your organisation will automatically receive your latest details.

Note: You may notice that you can’t change your email address directly in the app. If you need to, contact your organisation and they will be able to sort that out for you. However, it's worth just noting that, because your email is your unique identifier, changing it will create a new account (and you’ll get a new welcome email with new login details).

Emergency Contacts

Add or update your primary and secondary emergency contacts to make sure your organisation always has up-to-date information in case of an emergency.

Language

Select preferred language for the app.

Change Password

Need to update your password? You can do that right here in the app, no need to log out.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account by setting up 2FA via an authenticator app or text message.


Once enabled, you’ll be logged out automatically and prompted to log back in. This helps verify your account security.

Delete Account

If you ever decide to delete your Volunteero account, you can do so here, but we strongly recommend contacting your organisation first. Deleting your account will permanently erase all linked data, insights, and reports, and your organisation won’t know where you’ve gone!

Qualifications

In here, you can view which qualifications you have and how long they are valid for.

Under 'Available', you will see qualifications that you are able to earn through training.

You can also see 'Expired' qualifications, which mean you will have to retake a training course or contact your organisation to update these.

Shifts

In here you can view your upcoming shifts. You can view this in a list view or in a calendar view.

Reports

In this tab, you can view all the reports you’ve submitted, a great way to keep track of your volunteering activity and impact over time.

Please note: this tab only shows reports you’ve already submitted. To create a new one, check out our step-by-step guide or watch the video tutorial.


Scan QR Code

If your organisation uses QR codes for check-in and check-out, you can scan them directly from your profile tab, making attendance tracking super easy.


Settings

Device Settings

Here’s where you can personalise your Volunteero experience:

  • Security: Add Face ID for quick and secure logins.

  • Push Notifications: Enable or disable alerts.

  • Permissions: Manage push notifications and location, camera, media library, contacts access.

  • Preferred Calendar: Sync your shifts and missions to your personal calendar and choose your default one for seamless scheduling.

Customisation

Choose to customise your app to your preferred design. Choose to customise:

  • Missions- change the mission card main title.

  • Preferred theme- Choose between your organisation's colours or Volunteero's default theme. If you volunteer for multiple organisations, you can choose which organisation's colour will be used across the app.

  • Appearance- Choose if the app will be in light/dark/system mode.

  • Defaults- Select your preferred distance unit and currency.


Opportunities

Find New Opportunities

Looking for new ways to get involved?
Toggle on 'Find new opportunities' in your profile to unlock the 'Apply' tab. This lets you browse volunteering opportunities outside your organisation.


Learning

Show Learning tab

Want to complete training through the app?

Toggle on 'Show Learning tab' to be able to access courses from your organisation.


Support

Knowledge & Support

Here, you will be able to find all articles created by your organisation to help with support in relation to your organisation as a whole

App Support

In here, you will find a form that you can fill out if you are experiencing any issues with the app specifically. Please remember to add your email address as this is the only way we will be able to contact you to help with your query.
