Learning is your dedicated space for training, onboarding, and keeping your qualifications up to date. You will be able to consume content, complete quizzes, and make bookings in order to make sure all training is completed and up to date.
For new volunteers: completing a journey
After you have applied to be a volunteer at an organisation, you will be able to complete your onboarding steps through the Volunteero app.
Journeys may differ depending on the organisation and volunteer role. If you have any questions regarding the specific content of your onboarding or training, please reach out directly to your volunteer coordinator, as they’ll be best placed to support you with role-specific training.
Here is how to complete each stage:
You will firstly need to download and log into the Volunteero app - read our article on how to do this here.
In the Home tab, you will see a banner with the option to ‘Continue Learning’.
Click into this, and you will be able to see the steps you will need to complete in order to be onboarded.
Complete each step (some organisations may require this to be completed in a certain order).
You will also be able to see this in the ‘Learning’ tab at the bottom of the app. See below to see how different steps may work.
For Modules:
Modules may have one or multiple lessons, which can be in the form of readable content or videos.
To get started on a lesson, click into the lesson or hit 'Continue' at the bottom of the screen
Read the content
Once you're done, select ‘Next’ in order to complete a lesson.
For videos, you must watch the video, then select ‘Next’.
Once you have completed all lessons in a module, you can select ‘Finish’.
Some modules may require you to take a quiz
If so, press 'Take Quiz' and complete the quiz based on the content you have just learnt
Once you're done, press ‘Submit’.
You will then receive a percentage and whether or not you need to retake the quiz.
If you have passed, press 'Back to Journey' to continue your onboarding steps
If you've not passed, press 'Retake Quiz' to have another go.
You may also receive a qualification after you have completed all the modules of a course
For bookings:
Bookings may be used by your organisation to schedule an interview, induction, informal chat, etc.
Open the course
Select ‘Open booking.’
Here, you will be able to select a time for your booking (please note that different scheduling/ booking platforms may be used by different organisations).
Once you have completed your booking, select ‘Mark as booked’.
Click 'Confirm' to confirm you have completed your booking.
Some bookings may require staff sign-off.
For forms:
Forms allow you to submit important data or sign documents. Some fields on the form may be prefilled from your profile; feel free to update them in your profile if needed.
Complete the form, making sure all required fields are filled out
Once it's completed, select ‘Submit.’
Once you have completed all relevant courses, you may be awarded with qualifications from certain courses and be granted access to start volunteering! You can now begin browsing and claiming your missions!
For current volunteers: completing a course
Some roles may require you to retake training after a certain amount of time, so that you can continue volunteering.
In Volunteero, you will be able to retake courses that will keep you up to date with the qualifications that are necessary for your role. You will be notified before your qualification expires to retake this training.
Here is how you can do this:
Go to the ‘Learning’ tab
Select ‘Earn Qualifications’.
In here, you will see all the qualifications that are ‘Active,’ as well as ‘Expired’ and ‘Available’. ‘Available’ is training that may not be required, but is an option for you to earn and potentially broaden your opportunities within your organisation.
Select the qualification you want to take or renew
If there is a course under ‘Available Courses’, you can take this.
Once you have completed all training, you will regain your qualification.
