As you roll out Volunteero and make the most of our features, you may want to see how your volunteers are engaging with the app.

This early and ongoing analysis will allow you to track metrics such as:

  • App engagement and usage

  • Regular volunteer activity

  • Number of active volunteers

  • Number of Inactive volunteers

  • Volunteer length of service

Overview

There are a few ways you can view or analyse this information on Volunteero. If you want high-level data, then you can create a custom insights dashboard to plot this information. Read our Custom Insights guide here.

Apply filters

If you want to analyse individual volunteer data either within Volunteero or an exported CSV file then follow these steps.

Click into the 'volunteers' tab on your management dashboard.

Apply the relevant filters depending on the information you are wanting to view. A few examples may include:

  • Volunteer groups (for location, role, training status)

  • Tags (activity status tag, skills, interest)

  • Qualifications (including expiry date)

  • Badges (awarded to the profile)

  • Volunteer status (active, inactive or resigned)

Column visibility

Use the three dots on the right-hand side to adjust your column visibility. This includes everything from name, email, address, last seen, and last report date.

We advise using the 'last seen' and 'last report date' columns when wanting to analyse volunteer engagement and activity on the app.

Please note: the same process can also be applied to the client database

Export to CSV

Where relevant, you may then wish to export this view to a CSV file. This can be useful if you want to export a list of all volunteers who have not yet signed into the Volunteero app so that you can email to offer sign-in troubleshooting.

Video Tutorial

In the video below, I'll show you how to arrange the columns in your volunteer database and export the list so you can assess and analyse your volunteer engagement.

This can be particularly useful in the early days of going live with Volunteero to identify which volunteers haven't yet logged into the Volunteero App and make contact regarding this.

As always if you have any questions or need any support please don't hesitate to reach out to us support@volunteero.org
