Session Summaries & Personal Best Tracking

Written by Gina

Every time you complete and log a workout in VRTO, two things happen that are worth understanding: you receive a session summary, and the app records whether any personal bests were set during that session.

Your session summary

The session summary appears immediately after you tap Complete on a workout.

It shows:

  • Your overall performance for that session — sets completed vs. prescribed

  • Personal bests set during the session — any new load records for individual exercises

  • Adherence data — how closely your session tracked against your program prescription

Don't swipe past this screen. It's the clearest immediate feedback you have on how the session went — and it's the start of a performance record that builds over time.

Personal best tracking — what it is and why it matters

VRTO tracks a personal best for every exercise you log — the highest load you've moved for that movement at any rep range. The moment you lift more than you've ever lifted for that exercise, the app recognises it in real time during the session.

Your PB history is stored globally across all programs. When you switch programs, your history comes with you. When you return to a program you've done before, the system picks up exactly where you left off.

Why PBs matter more than the scale

The scale is a lagging indicator. It responds slowly, fluctuates daily, and is influenced by dozens of factors that have nothing to do with your body composition changing.

Personal bests are a leading indicator. When your strength is progressively increasing — even gradually — your program is working. That's true whether the scale has moved yet or not.

After 4–6 weeks of consistent training, your PB history across your key compound movements is one of the most reliable signals that your coaching path is right for you.

💡 If you're early in your VRTO journey and haven't set many PBs yet — don't read into it. PBs early on are limited by the fact that you're still establishing baseline loads. The PB tracking becomes genuinely meaningful after 3–4 weeks of consistent logging.
