What happens if I miss a training session?

Missing a session won’t break your progress. VRTO gives you flexibility to reschedule workouts during the week or adjust your weekly training structure if your routine or capacity changes.

How missed sessions work

If you miss a workout on the day it was scheduled, nothing negative happens in your program. VRTO doesn’t punish or reset your plan — instead, you can simply move the session to another day within the same training week.

This applies specifically to missing individual sessions within a week, not entire weeks.

If the week ends and you completed fewer sessions than planned (e.g., 3 out of 4), your program continues as normal. VRTO does not automatically make changes unless patterns emerge over time.

However, if you miss an entire week of workouts, the app will automatically move you to the next week in your training program unless you manually adjust it to repeat the missed week.

How skipping entire weeks works When you skip an entire week of workouts, the app will automatically progress you to the next week in your training program. This ensures continuity in your schedule. If you prefer to complete the missed week, you can manually adjust your schedule to repeat it. This flexibility allows you to tailor your training to your needs.

How rescheduling works

You can reorganise your training week anytime to match your real-life availability.

To reschedule a workout:

  1. Open the Training tab

  2. Tap Reschedule above the calendar

  3. Drag the workout to a different day in the same training week

  4. Confirm the update

This allows you to stay consistent even when your week doesn’t go to plan.

Adjusting your weekly structure

Inside the Training tab, each program includes multiple program variants, such as:

  • 3-day weeks

  • 4-day weeks

  • 5-day weeks

  • Home or gym options

If your capacity changes — whether temporarily or long term — you can switch to a variant that better fits the number of days you can realistically train.

You can change variants at any time.

Your workouts will automatically update to match the chosen weekly structure.

When VRTO recommends making a change

If you repeatedly miss sessions across multiple weeks (for example, consistently completing 2 out of 4 workouts), VRTO may suggest switching to a shorter weekly structure.

This helps ensure your plan reflects your real schedule so you can build momentum instead of feeling behind.
