Reading Your Weekly Report

Written by Gina

After completing your weekly check-in, VRTO generates your weekly report. This is the most information-dense coaching output in the app — and it's worth understanding how to read it properly so you get the most out of it.

What the report contains

Your weekly report has five components:

  • A weekly review message

  • Up to two coaching signals

  • Supporting metrics

  • A single optional action

  • A closing message

The weekly review message

This is a short paragraph at the top of your report that reflects your overall profile summary for the week. It falls into one of three broad categories: strong alignment (things are working well), mixed signals (some areas to watch), or clear issues (something specific needs attention).

Read this first before looking at individual signals. It gives you the context to interpret everything below it correctly.

Coaching signals

Coaching signals are observational, non-directive summaries of how you're tracking across four areas: progress, recovery, adherence, and goal alignment. They describe what's happening — not what you did wrong.

Each signal has a colour status: green, amber, or red. These represent the severity of the pattern the system has detected. (For a full explanation of what each colour means and what to do about it, see the related article: Understanding Coaching Signals.)

Importantly: most signals require the same condition to be observed across two consecutive check-ins before surfacing. This prevents VRTO from overreacting to a single off week. An amber signal in week one means the system noticed something. An amber signal in week two means it's a pattern worth addressing.

The optional action

A call-to-action only appears in your report when the system has enough confidence to recommend a specific next step. If no action is shown, you're on track — the absence of a recommendation is the recommendation.

When an action does appear, it will be one of a small number of things: review your nutrition targets, look at your program, or enter the Goal Review System. It will never recommend something that takes effect without your confirmation.

ℹ️ If your report shows no coaching signals and no action, that's the best possible outcome. It means your data is aligned and the system has nothing to flag. This is worth recognising as a positive result, not a blank one.

Supporting metrics

Below your signals and review message, you'll find your weekly metrics: training adherence (workouts logged vs. prescribed), recovery data, step count average, weight trend, and any personal bests recorded during the week.

These metrics are the evidence base for your coaching signals. If a signal says your adherence is off, the adherence tile shows you exactly what that looks like numerically.
