Defeating a sedentary lifestyle requires breaking up long periods of inactivity. Sedentary behavior can be insidious—the more inactive you are, the easier and more tempting it becomes to stay that way.
The best way to combat this is through timely notifications, which is why they are an essential part of Wakeout. Not to steal your attention, but to remind you to get up and move for a minute.
Activity Schedule
Wakeout’s notifications don’t arrive at fixed intervals. Instead, we use a smart system that learns from your habits. In Wakeout, you set up a "notification window"—a start and end time during which you’re okay with receiving movement reminders.
Wakeout monitors your sedentary habits in the background. If it notices you’ve been inactive for too long, it will prompt you to move.
How to Configure Your Activity Schedule
1. Access Activity Schedule: Under Settings, tap "Activity Schedule".
2. Set Notification Window: Choose the days and start/end times when you’re most sedentary, typically during work hours. Make this window as broad as possible.
3. Notification Frequency: Set how many notifications you’re comfortable receiving each day. If you struggle with inactivity, set it to Enhanced. If you already move frequently but appreciate occasional reminders, set it to Limited.
You won’t receive notifications outside of the set schedule.
Turning Off Notifications
To turn off notifications, simply set the "Notification Frequency" to Off. This setting can be found under Settings > Activity Schedule.
By customizing your notifications and activity schedule, Wakeout helps you stay active and defeat the sneaky creep of sedentary behavior.
