How do I do a drop-in visit?

Start a drop-in or pet sitting visit, log what you do, and send the report.

Here's how to do a drop-in visit in Walkies, and share what happened with your client. Pet sitting, training, grooming and meet & greet visits work the same way.

Start a drop-in

  1. On Home, tap Activity.

  2. Choose Drop in.

  3. Choose the pets and tap Start. The visit screen opens.

During the visit

  • Tap Update to log what you did, like water, dinner, medication, a pee or a poop, or a note.

  • Tap the camera button to add photos and videos.

  • Everything is added to the visit's timeline, which your client can watch in the Walkies Journal app.

  • To take the pets for a walk during the visit, tap Update > Walk. The walk is tracked with GPS and added to the visit's timeline when it ends.

End the visit

  1. Tap End.

  2. On Summary, add Overall notes, notes for each pet, and tick off any checklist items.

  3. Tap End. Tap the message that appears to share the report card.

What your client gets

  • "Drop in started" when you start, with a link to follow along.

  • "Drop in finished" when you end, with the full report: photos, a timeline of what you did, and your notes.

Turn these off in Menu > Client notifications > Drop ins.

How visits differ from walks

  • There's no GPS route. Walkies saves the place you started, and the weather on Pro and above.

  • Pee and poop are logged as updates, not with counters.

  • A visit can be edited after it ends: tap ... for Edit date, Add/remove pets, Add/remove checklist items, Restart or Delete.
