What can I do on walks and visits in Walkies?

GPS walks, drop-ins, stays, taxis, updates, photos and reports, and what your clients see.

Walkies records your walks and visits as they happen. Walks are tracked with GPS, visits keep a timeline of what you did, and your clients can follow along live and get a report with photos when you finish.

Visits and stays

What you can add

What your clients see

  • A message when you start, so they can follow along live in the Walkies Journal app.

  • A message when you finish, with a link to the report: the route map, distance, time, photos, updates and your notes. The link opens in the app, or in a web browser for clients without it.

  • Live chat with you, or the team member doing it, in the walk or visit's Feed, while it's happening and afterwards. See Can I live chat with clients during a walk or visit?

  • Messages go by email, and by push notification in the Journal app. SMS and WhatsApp need Walkies Pro or Max. See How do I choose which notifications all my clients get?

Activity settings

In Menu > Your app settings > Activity settings, you can hide your route from clients until a walk ends, stop recording routes, and get reminders as the booked time runs out. See How do I hide my route or change activity settings?

On your iPhone and Apple Watch

  • Walks and shorter visits in progress show on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

  • Home Screen widgets start a walk, drop-in, taxi and more, and show today's appointments.

  • On Apple Watch, see the time and distance of the walk you're on, and add pees and poops for each pet.

  • If Apple Health is connected, walks are saved to Health as workouts.

Afterwards

Good to know

  • Walkies needs location access to track walks.

  • The weather on walks and visits needs Walkies Pro or Max.

  • Team members only see the walks and visits they're on, and can live chat with the client in each one's Feed.
