How does client auto-pay work?

Clients' invoices paid from their saved card as soon as you create them.

With auto-pay, a client's invoices are paid automatically from their saved card as soon as you create them. Clients turn it on themselves in the Walkies Journal app.

What you need

  • Walkies Max.

  • Walkies Pay set up. See How do I set up Walkies Pay?

  • The client connected to the Walkies Journal app, with a saved card and auto-pay turned on.

How your client turns it on

  1. In the Walkies Journal app, they go to Settings > Payments.

  2. They add a card under Saved cards.

  3. They turn on Auto-Pay. They can set a Max amount and a Tip percentage.

What happens when you create an invoice

  • It's paid straight away from their card, with their tip, and marked paid.

  • They get "Invoice auto-paid", and you get "Invoice auto-paid" too.

  • If the invoice is more than their Max amount, it isn't paid automatically. They pay it the usual way.

  • If the payment fails, they're told and asked to pay the invoice themselves.

Good to know

  • Auto-pay only runs when an invoice is first created. Invoices that existed before they turned it on aren't charged.

  • You'll see Auto-pay on each owner's info on the client's profile, but only the client can change it.

  • If your plan changes from Max, auto-pay stops charging.
