Location-Specific Phone Numbers and Opt-In
Updated over a week ago

This feature allows a business to assign a phone number to individual or groups of locations, enabling separate conversations across locations and ensuring that Marketing Automations originate from a phone number specific to each location.

Inbox Filters for Businesses With Multiple Phone Numbers

The Inbox now includes a location drop-down. By default, it will show all locations that a user has access to. If the user has staff permissions for multiple locations, they will click the dropdown and be able to see all the locations they have access to.

Inbox Filters for Businesses Without Multiple Phone Numbers

If you have not set up multiple phone numbers, this dropdown will work like the location filter did before this change. If a client has multiple associations and has sent messages to multiple locations phone numbers, you will see both conversations separately for that client.

Under the name, we show the location(s) associated with that phone number that the message was sent to. In the case below, Mason sent a message to the phone number that is only associated with Colorado. Mason also sent a message to a phone number that is associated with both the Los Angeles & Texas locations.

When clicking ‘New Message’ if both the client selected and the user selecting have associations and multiple locations, the user will need to select the location they want the message to come from. This will send the message from that locations associated phone number.

Client Opt-in for Businesses Without Multiple Phone Numbers

If your business is not using multiple phone numbers, you will not see locations listed under the client profile and you will not have the option to choose a location from the drop-down. If a client opted-in to communications from a business, they are opted-in to communications from all locations.

Client Opt-in for Businesses With Multiple Phone Numbers

Opt-ins will be specific to the locations phone number. So, a client could opt-in to communications at Location A but be opted-out and Location B & C. These opt-ins can be managed from the client profile and the widget.

Client Profile Opt-in

In the client profile, we will now list all locations/phone numbers that a client can be opted-in to. You’ll see the phone number and the corresponding location underneath. By default, we only display the locations that a user has opted-in to and have activity at.

In our example below, if a client has activity at Colorado and has opted-in, you’ll see that by default. If they opted-in to an additional location but don’t have activity there, that location will be hidden but can be viewed if you click ‘Show All Location’. If opting-out of a phone number that has multiple locations, you will not receive communications from all locations associated to that phone number.

Client Widget Opt-in for Existing Clients

When clients are viewing their profile on the widget, they will only see the location/phone number of the locations they have activity at. Because Mason only has activity at Colorado, that is the only location that shows on the widget.

If he wanted to opt-in to other locations that he does not have activity at, he would need to contact the studio. If he does end up visiting another location, that location would show as an option in the SMS opt-in.

Client Widget Opt-in for New Clients

When a new client creates an account on the widget, they will select a location. If they opt-in to SMS communications, they will be opted-in to that location and that location/phone number will show in their profile on the widget. In addition, on the back-end will opt the client in to all phone numbers associated with that business. Those phone numbers/locations will not show on the widget until the client has activity.

For example if a client creates a profile at Colorado and Los Alamos also uses the same phone number as Colorado, the client will technically be opted-in to receiving messages from Los Alamos. But, the Low Alamos opt-in status will not display for the client until they have activity at Los Alamos.
